Old Friends
"Fuck.... What could be going on?"
Staring at the board he made, Lukash was getting even angrier. He just could not figure it out, what was with Sasha, had the tape meant anything? He groaned, scratching his head for a minute. He nearly jump out his skin when he heard Angus behind him.
"Look mate, She's not the same as you remembered. People change-" Angus seemed to have been watching him for a while, but couldn't even get the last words out before Lukash cut him off.
"No! No... Her eyes... They were always brown! Something's off. I just need to figure..."
Angus stood there looking at the black haired man with sympathy. "Luk, you do realise a thing called the Mandela effect exist? Its when..."
Lukash snapped at him "I know what it is! Now just... I need some time to think..." He said, before banging his head on the wall.
The quiet man just sighed and left the room. "Just... alteast get some sleep."
Angus walked back into the main room, the one-eyed man staring back at him.
"It's no use... He's too stubborn," He admitted
"Always has been, that young lad."
" Yep... you're right about that one Lewis. But I just don't get it, he had that dream like a month ago..."
"Same here mate." Lewis laughed.
Angus and Lewis stood there for a bit. Before deciding to play go fish with a deck of cards they found when raiding the merc base.
Angus was winning, 5-2 and they were both laughing while enjoying some biscuits they found when on a supply run. That was until Luk burst through the door."I figured it out!" He exclaimed, swiping his scruffy hair from his eyes, he looked exhausted but happy.
"You figured what out?" Lewis asked, a bit shook from his friend's sudden entrance.
"What's with Sasha!" Luk yelled, nearly jumping in what seemed to be excitement.
"Wait..." Angus began, staring in confusion at the man, him and Lewis stared at eachother for a second.
"Just! Come on!"
"Okay! okay! Hold on to yer knickers!" Lewis yelled, getting up from his seat, Angus doing the same. They followed Lukash into the next room.
Lukash urged them to sit down as he talked about his makeshift presentation. "So... Sasha's eyes are brown... But when I seen her, They were white" he started
"In your dream?" Angus asked
Lukash stared at him for a second "Also on the tape I watched, But-"
"How are you sure you also didn't dream that?.." Lewis cut him off before he could finish
"Because a decapitated head didn't scream at me, and it felt more real" Lukash told him, though he to doubted if he really was awake during that, but with everything else it just made sense.
"So... I figured it out, I think, maybe. But basically Sasha was brainwashed about a year ago, and seemed to have been un-brainwashed? Anyways I think in the brainwashing process they maybe injected her with something-" He continued on, starting to ramble on.
Angus cut him short."Get to the point man."
He paused sheepishly, realising he was rambling. "Oh.. Sorry, but basically I think she's either not fully un-brainwashed or is been injected with a drug of some sort."
Lewis stared, confused "... How is this helpful?" He asked
"Well if she's been drugged, and I can figure out how it was triggered, I can reverse it." Lukash told them proudly
"So you can bring, the old Sasha back?"
"If she's drugged, yes."
there was silencein the room for a few minutes before one of the men spoke up "and if she isn't?"
"I... don't know."
He walked on the road, the cars rusted from lack of use, he didn’t bother bring his rifle, because Lukash knew this fight was going to be more of fists that firearms. He still brought a pistol just in case though...
A familiar voice spoke behind him and he turned, knowing exactly who is would be"Well hello, didn't expect you to be here, Luk" The woman spat
"Same here, Sasha..." he spun on his heel to face the woman."Enjoy your... gift?" She sneered. He frowned slightly.
"Not the best, but honestly I don't know what your best is anymore." Lukash sighed
Sasha dropped her gun, and raised her fist, cocking an eyebrow up to Lukash suggesting he did the same, so she wants to fight?
He sighed, putting his fist up aswell, she ran to him, and before he could dodge, tackled him to the road and swung at his fist. Luk barely dodged the punch as he struck her face and kicked her off him, he didn’t want to fight Sasha, but he had no real choice. It was fight or die...She glared at him, picking herself off the ground she charged as him again and swung another fist, a crack came from his nose as blood started to pour from it. Luk stumbled back before grabbing the woman and striking her in the face before punching her in the stomach, she doubled over momentarily and scowled at him.
Lukash wiped hks nose and got ready to take another hid, catching a kick and flooring the woman in a swift move. He backed away with a hand on his pistol, not yet... He told himself, moving his hand away. He gripped Sasha by the jacket and threw her away to buy some time. He was already exhausted and it had been minutes into the fight.
She landed on her back and tried to get up, but a foot on her chest stopped her."Sasha, please..." Lukash begged, he didn’t want to fight her, hurt her.
"Get.. off me!" She hissed as she grabbed the man and threw him over her, hearing one of her own bones cracked she groaned slightly. Getting to her feet, something. A voice in her head told her to stop, but she brushed it off and took out a dagger, swing it at Luk, who ducked to dodge it.
"Sasha! This isn't you! Use your head god dammit!" He swore as she struck his arm with the blade, backing away she froze for a second... something wasn't right.
Sasha stopped, her head felt wierd, what was shecdoing again? Everything started to blur as her hand holding the dagger fell to her side. Her head started to ache, she looked to see him, what was he doing here?
"Luk?" She asked, confused. He stared back at her, what was she...
"Sasha? Are you?.."
"Why are you bleeding?.." Sasha asked, the knife now at her side, she stared up, eyes full of shock and concern. They weren't vivid green anymore...
Lukash was in disbelief, his theory of her either bring drugged or half brainwashed was true, and he somehow triggered her to stop, but what was the trigger, what had he said?Sasha paused again, what was she doing. She was here to kill him , her hand with the dagger raised again and Lukash pulled out his pistol.
"Drop the blade, Sasha" he stated.
"Never." She hissed back. She felt awful, like she had been hit over the head with a brick. Everything was fuzzy, and Luk's voice started to get distorted. The last thing she seen was him walking towards her before the world went dark...
