Their name is Jasper, and I'll be revealing some details of them throughout the story parts if I feel like it. So without further ado, sit back and relax and enjoy the story!

Ever since I was a child, I have loved rock music.
It became a significant part of my life, and I had a huge passion for it. Of course, the obligatory guitar playing came up.
But... this interest made it hard for me to make friends.
Every time I would try to ask someone who liked this music to sit with me, it would always be the same: Weird looks, muted chuckles, and scornful people leaving me alone.
I thought I would remain like this for the rest of my life. However...
My father lifted me on my shoulders. The concert venue was crowded, and it was dark, except for some distant lights. The atmosphere seemed to hum with an electric presence, which was intimidating. I panicked a bit, looking around. Not that it was much of an option anyway, since I was blind in this darkness. What was happening?! All of a sudden, a loud voice managed to overpower the sea of roars within the crowd.
"Alright, Ohio! You wanted the best? You got the best! The hottest band in the world... KISS!"
The lights on the stage glowed with life. As the sound of guitars blared throughout my ears, the curtains dropped to reveal the band that would change my life forever.
Sparklers and flames exploded from the stage, and the band, KISS, came down on platforms. From my viewpoint and lighting position, they seemed to be descending from heaven. My father screamed his lungs out in excitement, joining the crowd in their ecstatic screams whilst raising their signs of the horns.
I sat tightly on his shoulders, looking on in complete astonishment. Everything took the words out of my mouth: the beautiful melodies from their sharp guitars, their costumes, their makeup, the stage effects...
All of it was amazing.
I started tearing up at the scene, and despite my happy, star-struck cries being drowned out by the audience and music, I raised my sign of the horns.
On the drive home, my father gave me some advice that would steer me in the right direction: "Never let anyone bring you down for your interests. Show them how proud you are of your passions and interests." I nodded, my eyes still wide open from the experience. "Yes, dad."
He smiled, then gave me a final bit of advice before I fell asleep. "And sometime soon, you can get closer to them."
9 years later...
"Enjoy your beverage." As I scrubbed the coffee jug clean, I looked off to see my fellow barista, Evan, serve a coffee to a nearby patron. As some rock music played on the radio, I looked off to the clock, which read the current time: 9:57 P.M. It was ticking a bit closer to the end of the cafe being open. Come on, just a bit more...
A hand patted my shoulder. I looked off to see Jules, who smiled at me. "We're closing up shop in a minute. Wanna help?" He asked me, a voice full of sincerity. I nodded, trying to prevent the blood flow to my cheeks. "Yeah. I'd give anything to get to the Halloween concert tonight." I replied, wiping down the bar.
"Well, I guess you can cross off seeing KISS again after 9-ish years off the bucket list." Evan chuckled while polishing some glasses. I giggled back a bit, locking up the front doors for the night. Once we were sure everything was exceptionally clean, we exited through the back and locked the door behind us.
"Well, better get going. Try not to stay out too late, okay?" Jules patted my head. I nodded, heading over to my car. "See ya tomorrow, Jasper!" Evan waved as I drove off to the park. As the trees flew by the window, I looked up to see the full moon. Perfect. I smiled and turned on the radio, which played "Rock and Roll All Nite".
Third-person POV, at KISS World...
Two men in tracksuits broke into the park supervisor's office, both scrambling to narrate their horrific experience. "There's a witch!" They managed to sync together to cough that out, much to the supervisor's annoyance. The plague on his desk read Goldman. "Pipe down already, you're giving me a headache!" He somewhat managed to slow them down.
"But we saw her! She had this grotesque head, it was so frightening!" The men recounted. "Well, welcome to KISS World. That's the whole point of this park, isn't it? To excite and fright. Now get back to work." He ordered them, printing out a photo to add some salt to the wound. In the photo, there was indeed a silver-faced witch, cloaked in crimson.
The tracksuited men, reeling from the experience, didn't utter anything more as they headed out of the office. Once he was sure the two were gone, Goldman picked up his telephone. "She's back! Only one thing we can do..."
"Get me the hottest mystery solvers in the world."
