Ten Days Later

Y/N's Pov:

Drops on the mirror.

Trickling condensation in this reflective wall of steam.

You stare through, to a distorted version of yourself, wondering, why exactly are you like this?

Six days ago was such a lovely day.

And now, the water is rising again, but only within you.

You won't let her onto that though, mostly because when she's there with you it's almost like it's not there. The darkness always seems to run away from every time she looks in your eyes, and leans in for an embrace. That perfect Rose embrace.

Before her, you only remember receiving one hug ever in life.

But hers is still your favorite. It melts all else away when your lost.

What? After all she's been through in the last few months your supposed to look her in the face and say, hey baby I need extra time to get up today because I'm starting to feel really depressed and just don't have the energy? Really? That's not fair. Not after how hard she worked to get where she is for you three.

You just need a little motivation and you can stay on your feet.

Motivation like the hug you're going for right now. She's in the kitchen doing a few things at once. She's writing in her journal while her powers make a snack behind her. She picks things that don't require to be cut or won't make too much of a mess if spilled. Controlling her abilities has been extremely difficult since her day in the hospital. She gave all that energy to Allura, and ever since. She seems to... struggle. So she's trying to fine tune her powers again in her own way without going to her usual training, for obvious reasons

Her attending yours is getting better though. You're not flipping out over other peoples moves when she decides to sit through one of your sessions. Though admittedly it's easier to not flip now that there's a deflector screen up. Stark got right on that one after a bit of a bark from you.

It's funny how everything else seems to begin improving, when you start to experience an emotional decline. But you force it away, and slide along the counter to be just beside her space as she's writing. "Hello my love."

She tilts from her page, turning her big green eyes right to yours with a loving curl in the corner of her lip.

"Hi baby..." Her eyes drift down your neck and arms before returning to your gaze and opening her arms for you to slide into. Her hands land on your upper back. "I was just thinking about you."

"Yeah?"

"Mhm I was thinking, if you would take us out somewhere today. Somewhere away from people. That we both might like. I don't care where you choose. But you already got your training done. And I know that you nee- I mean I think going out would be best. I've been inside since I saw that car. It's time to try going out again, and I'd like your help."

Well how do you say no when she says it like that. "Of course Rose." You consider options at rapid speed, ending on one you think fits best. "Get a sweater, and some sandals. Just don't bring any socks you'll end up leaving them there. Do you want to stay the night away or come back?"

"I get to sleep next to you either way right?"

"Of course, and I'll make sure you can sleep comfortably."

The effort of place appears lost on her but she agrees.

Out of the fridge before she gets up, you get a water for yourself and two apricots you put in there for her last night. You rinse one, split it, and hand her the side without the seed to eat. She leans on her elbow. "Thank you. Did you eat today?"
