Author's Note
Hi guys! Kylie here with a new update! This fanfiction won't be updated as much as my other two, but I'll try to get updates out there as often as possible. Thanks for being so understanding and sticking with me! Much love to you all!

Chapter 3
(Lachlan's POV)
"I dunno dude, what if it doesn't work?" I leaned against the back of my black leather gaming chair, intertwining a pencil throughout my fingers as I spoke to Preston, Mitch, and Jerome on Skype. "Lachlan! Seriously man, grow a pair and just do it!" Mitch yelled through the phone, slamming his hands against his desk and obviously knocking something over. "Shit, Kylie's gonna kill me if I'm late to dinner. Gotta go." Mitch whispered into his mic, ending the call. I laughed momentarily before sighing. (Woah, matrix fanfiction combination)
How am I going to be able to ask Shealyn to Homecoming if I have no idea how to do it? I groaned. "Well, she likes to sing doesn't she?" Preston asked. That's it. She loves to sing. I slammed my fist against my desk. "THAT'S IT! THANKS PRES" "Wha-um yeah you're welcome" I hung up the phone and opened Google. "A Guide to Song Writing- Ten Easy Steps to Writing a Hit Song" I clicked on the first link that popped up and read through the article, occasionally taking notes and scribbling on the back of a receipt I had handy. This better work.

(Shealyn's POV)
"Your daughter has been diagnosed with a particular type of cancer. A brain tumor, if you will."
The same 17 words, filling my head again and again, making it want to explode. How could this happen. What did I do to deserve this?
I'd never be able to live a normal life again. I'd never live to see my own husband, my own children. I'd never live to see myself grow old.
Why did this happen?
