The Thirst for An Answer

Merlin wasn't really interested in drinking, or celebration for that matter but she supposed she can have a little fun. She was in a fairly good mood, she saw Escanor having a smash, she didn't want to worry or interrupt him. So she sat quietly, Gowther asked her what was wrong, she said, "Nothing is wrong, I am just uninterested in celebration." Gowther agreed. They found it boring because they usually stood in her lab or fought. 

Escanor was talking to King and Ban,  he kept peaking over King to make sure Merlin was okay, Ban finally said, "Stop worrying so much and relax. Enjoy yourself.". Escanor took his advice and continued to drink his booze.  

Merlin knew Escanor was worried but she didn't say anything because she knew that he would be upset. She continued to eat Ban's godly cooking, it was good but in her mind it wasn't near Escanor's. Gowther read her mind out loud, he whispered it into her ear and her face turned bright red. She said, "Don't do that without my permission, it's humiliating."  Gowther smiles, it was a weird sight. He had no heart so it looked as if he had a murderous intent behind it. 

Merlin knew what Gowther was implying. She decided to have a few glasses of booze. She was still feeling sick but she really wanted to enjoy the night. She got up and asked Elizabeth for another glass of booze. Elizabeth responded, "Yes, lady Merlin.". Merlin says, "Drop the Lady, we are friends and teammates. I am not your Queen, so you don't have to serve me." 

Elizabeth thanked her and continued to go and get her booze. After about 5 more drinks she was completely drunk. She decided to dance, shut like everyone else but she had no one to dance with, her only option was Escanor. How cliche, she thought, her face was turning red. Yes Gowther wasn't occupied but she wouldn't have a real emotional moment with someone who has no heart, and someone she has no sentimental relationship with.

She walked up to Escanor, bright red. He thought she wasn't feeling good but instead she was feeling good, in a  great mood. He got up and danced with her, after a while they stopped in the middle of the floor and Merlin pulled Escanor in, and hang her head over his shoulder. Escanor was tall he just had a hunchback. He was 6ft actually.

Escanor felt the warm embrace. He wanted to stay in that position for eternity but Merlin wanted to head to bed, he said, "Good night, Ms Merlin. Sweet dreams." She thanked him and went up stairs. He decided it would be best for him to rest, he was feeling woozy and a bit more than tipsy.

He went to shower, he washed off. He was thinking about shaving his moustache. He decided to save that decision for another day, he was too tired to think.

He quickly put on some comfortable night clothes and slept. He slept in the guest room because they had to make space in Merlins lab for Escanor. She already had a bunch of shelves and a huge table, and there was a door leading to Gowther's new room.  It would be weird, Gowther rarely slept either. It wasn't even sleeping, it's a recharge. He couldn't catch a fairly good rest sleeping in the guest room, so in Gowther's would be worse.

He slowly slipped away, and slept.
In the morning he is already muscular. His clothes had turned into ashes. He had nothing on because the clothes he wore were made of the softest material in Britannia. He was practically naked. He got up  realizing he had no pants, he usually walked around shirtless so this was no surprise, but never pantless.

He walked out, and Diane automatically screamed, "I'VE JUST SEEN HELL!"

Everyone automatically turns to Escanor. He asks, "What? Why are you shocked?" He looks down and realized. He was completely red. He ran back into the guest room and put on another pair.

He tried to put on a shirt but it ripped as soon has a he tried.

He walked out and asked if it was better.

Everyone nodded.

Merlin was eating pancakes, and she saw that Escanor's face was bright red. She didn't know why, she supposed he was going to ask her if she wanted anything so she brushed it off and put her usual smirk. She was right. Escanor came up to her, like a guilty school boy, he tried to mutter out a sentence but it was muffled. Merlin asked, "What was that? I couldn't hear you." He said it louder, "Would you like to go on a date?!". Everyone stopped what they were doing, and their jaws dropped. She said yes, and everyone's jaw had hit the floor, Gowther broke the silence, and asked what a date was? Ban said, "It's when you ask someone to go eat and then you come home and f-", BAN! was yelled. "I'm sorry, damn."

King asked, "Since when did Merlin suddenly feel for Escanor?"

Merlin and Escanor looked at each other and nodded.
