five || peonies & a walk home

"What do you mean you almost got fired from your job Taehyun?!" Kai said loudly in shock when the male told him what had happened on Sunday with a specific ravenette. It had been a whole week since the incident and Taehyun hasn't seen Beomgyu at all, which he didn't mind.

"They were mad because I smashed Beomgyu's face into the tiramisu cake but they didn't fire me for some reason." Taehyun shrugged. He was quite shocked that his manager only gave him a strict warning instead of firing him on the spot. Did he feel guilty for shoving the elder's face into the cake? Nope, not one bit.

"I mean- Who does that?! Who asks for a kiss? I would never kiss anyone, especially that goddamn Choi!" Taehyun said ready to rip his hair out. Kai stared at Taehyun with an awkward smile and just let his friend rant about how angry he was for the whole week.

The two walked inside of the school heading towards Taehyun's locker which was fortunately right next to Kai's. "You know how Beomgyu hyung is, Taehyun. He's a trickster." Kai sighed and opened his locker, the whole top part was filled with multiple plushies and a little 'you can do it!' sticker on top.

"Also Isn't it about time you finally call Beomgyu...hyung?" Kai asked and tilted his head. An airy scoff came from Taehyun before shaking his head. "I refuse to address him as hyung. He doesn't deserve it!"

"But it's a basic form of respect, Taehyun. I'm surprised he hasn't scolded you yet." Kai sighed and closed his locker. Taehyun just shrugged and turned around opening his locker.

Taehyun's eyes widened as something hit his chest and fell off to the floor. Looking down at what the object was he saw a bouquet of peonies and dahlias that had a little white bow wrapped around it.

Taehyun slowly picked the bouquet up and stared at the flowers. "Holy shit Taehyun!" Kai looked at the male excitedly, "You got flowers!"

The redhead eyed his best friend suspiciously, "You didn't put this in my locker?" He asked. Kai shook his head no which made Taehyun even more confused. The male stared at the bouquet curiously. He never told anybody that peonies were his favorite flower, he didn't even have an exact clue who would give these to him!

"The person who sent you these probably really likes you Tae," Kai said and grabbed the bouquet out of the male's hand. Taehyun felt a weird stab in his gut when the other took the flowers out of his hands. "Dahlias! Don't these signify everlasting love?" The male asked before the flowers were snatched back by Taehyun.

"I don't care what the flowers mean- This is stupid! Why would anyone give me flowers?" Taehyun scoffed and looked at the flowers, but deep down he felt unknown butterflies. Staring at the flowers made him sick. Looking more in his locker he felt a small sticky note and quickly grabbed it.

This is cheesy but these flowers aren't as beautiful as you! <3

P.S: Sorry for Sunday.

Taehyun read the note as his face turned into a frown. No initial or anything, not even a hint of who gave this to him! He felt a little bit upset and sad that the person wouldn't expose themself. Sorry for Sunday? Taehyun read and felt dumbfounded.

The school bell rang signaling that there were only ten more minutes left til' class started, Kai quickly closed his locker and patted Taehyun's head before leaving. Taehyun bit his lip trying to think about anything that happened on Sunday, yet his mind was clouded. "Ugh, whatever." He said as his eyes slowly roamed over to a trash can.
