"IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY?!" Five asked, with blunt bemusement and a long sigh. You and Klaus exchanged expressions before nodding.

"Yes."

"Absolutely."

Was it really? No, however you'd always wanted to see what would happen if someone pulled the fire alarm. Bizarrely it's never happened in the entirety of your time in Hotel Oblivion. Chet always made sure everyone adhered to the rules so the chances of an actual fire were little to none with him always breathing down everyone's neck with the promise of extreme consequences should such a thing occur.

Klaus... well, he just wanted to do something fun.

Five rolled his eyes, and huffed out a "fine." Before starting to walk towards the agreed fire alarm, while you rushed to stand behind the counter and Klaus to the door to fetch the car.

The plan was simple— thought off by yours truly of course—Five pulls the fire alarm, you insist that everyone evacuats as you call the fire department. Amidst all the chaos you slip away and meet Five and Klaus two blocks down where they'll have a car and your packed bag waiting for you.

Your biggest obstacle would be Chet, but with the disappearance of his precious mutt he hasn't been living up to his usual tyrannical reputation.

Thank the lord for that damn mutt. May it be found, if not, then retired to a happy farm up north or whatever.

Despite the dog's abrupt disappearance, Chet would still be vigilant enough to ensure that you were always within 30 meter distance of the hotel. He never seemed too tired to make sure you didn't make a break for it at the dead of night. Going so far as to instal a cat-bell above your door to alert him of your entrances and exits. Luckily you'd never really tried to leave, there was no reason to. Hotel Obsidian provided world class food and wine, you pawned off rooms for Diamond bracelets and shiny necklaces and he let you keep them. You were comfortable, sheltered and well-fed with enough entertainment to keep you going.

After however long it's been since you came to the hotel, Chet seemed to have come to terms with the fact that you weren't looking to run away. That— would work in your advantage today, because you knew he wouldn't be expecting it. So, with a disarming smile, you slipped beside him, behind the counter, greeting a few guests in the process.

The man then sighed as he leaned over the clean counter, "you seem awfully close with our newest misfits." His eyes slid towards you, his permanent frown settling in against his wrinkled face.

You turned to him, "what are you talking about?"

"The Hargreeves," Chet elaborated, "I think you've taken a shy to the youngest— although with all the rumors I hear about them I'm not sure who's older and who's not."

"Oh, Five," you smiled, "he's fun, makes life a little more entertaining."

"I didn't realize life here was so dull."

"Not always... just sometimes." You grinned and he scoffed out a laugh.

"Dull as it may be, it'd be tedious for me to remind you, yet again that you have a duty to this hotel. As I have reminded you countless of times." He turned back to stare at the open windows with a bored sigh.
