The day went on slowly as school always does and in what seemed like hours, it was only time for fourth period. Sara sighed as she moved her way through the crowded hall, almost getting knocked over a couple of times before she finally reached her science class that happened to be all the way across the school. She walked in the room and sighed- all of the seats were taken. Well, almost all of them. She saw the boy from the bus at the back of the room and he smiled at her, patting the seat beside him. Sara blushed lightly as she made her way across the room, hugging her books tightly to her chest. She had almost gotten tripped again.
When she finally made it to her seat she sat down silently, setting her books to the side of her half of the desk.
"So..." Alec mumbled, "looks like you're going to be my science partner, Sara,"
Sara didn't say anything, she only sat quietly, listening only to the teacher. She finally got back to reality when she felt something on her shoulder. She jerked and looked up, her eyes wide.
"Oh, uh, sorry..." Alec mumbles, "the bell just rang and, uh, I was wondering if I could walk you to your next class?" He stood up slowly as he talked, gathering his books.
"I uh..." Sara nods slightly before standing up and grabbing her books. She mumbles, "I've, uh, got algebra II next."
"Smart, are we?" Alec says with a grin, "I'm only in geometry... You might just have to help me study some time,"
Sara chucked and then they were off to the algebra II classroom, room 208 to be exact.
They arrived a couple minutes early but Sara stopped outside the room
Alec raised an eyebrow, "you nervous?"
Sara shook her head and turned to face the door, "don't be late to your next class..." She mumbled and walked into the classroom.
Alec smiled and began to walk to his next class.
The next forty-five minutes were dreadful. The teacher kept yelling at Sara to pay attention or to stop drawing. She had been taking notes, but she had began to scribble down some drawings on the side absentmindedly. The teacher passed out homework and Sara stared at it blankly. She had been too busy drawing pictures of a rose to pay enough attention to the lesson. She sighed and headed back to her locker after the bell rang.
Sara put her things in her locker and grabbed her ID card. She began to walk quickly and quietly to the cafeteria. Hoping to not run into anyone on the way.
She got her lunch and say down quietly at a lonely table at the end of the lunch room. She got some weird looks from the preps and jocks but she didn't let it bother her. She sat at the edge at the table and began to eat her lunch before someone sat down in front of her.
Of course Alec had found where she was sitting. She sighed softly before speaking, "are you following me or something?"
Alec grinned at her, " I may be."
Sara raised an eyebrow, "really?"
He rolls his eyes, "no not really. I just want to be your friend is all."
Sara looks at her tray and mumbles, "I'm not good at making friends..."
"Neither am I," Alec admits with a smile, "but I mean, we could be friends,"
"Really?" Sara looks up at him, hair in her face. And Alec nods with a smile.
"Consider it done..." Sara says, smiling back at Alec.
After lunch Sara went to her art class. The class was filled with an assortment of people... From preps, to jocks, to the outcasts. And Alec was even there. It kind of annoyed her how much time she had to spend with him, but they were friends so she figured she would have to deal with it.
Alec quickly found a seat next to Sara and smiled, "we meet again," Alec says, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"It's like I can't get away from you," Sara says quietly, also a bit sarcastic.
The class seemed to go pretty fast, the art teacher assigned the class to draw something that best described them and Sara drew a black rose. Alec had watched her draw it and kept complimenting her.
"So, why a black rose?" Alec asked with a quirked eyebrow.
"I, um..." Sara sighed and looked down at her hand.
"A black rose because it's not, you know, normal and everyone tries to avoid them and they think they're bad luck..."Alec didn't say anything, he only looked at her drawing for a moment before continuing to draw his own lightning bolt.
After art the day went by quickly, all of her classes were over and it was finally time to go home. She walked to the bus and sat in the same seat that she had sat in that morning and waited to Alec to show up. Alec was almost too late for the bus. The driver had closed the doors and was about to drive away when he came running to the bus and quickly found his seat next to Sara when the driver opened the doors. "That was close..." Alec mumbled, out of breath from running.
The ride home was way faster than the ride to school. Alec kept talking to Sara but she didn't really say much, but Alec is pretty funny so he got her to laugh a few times. Sara found out that Alec lived down the road from her and she helped him with some homework before they got to Sara's stop. Alec didn't really need help with his homework, but he didn't complain.
Sara grabbed her keys from her bag and unlocked the front door of her house and walked inside. She threw her bag on the ground and kicked off her shoes with a sigh. Her mom walked out of the kitchen with a smile on her face, "so? How was it?" She questioned.
"It was the same as always, mom. Boring, annoying, and lots of homework," Sara said, kind of annoyed.
"Well did you at least make some friends?" Lena asked, an eyebrow quirked.
"I... May have," Sara mumbled as a light blush covered her cheeks.
"Is he cute?" Lena teased.
"How do you know it's a guy?" Sara questioned.
"You're blushing, Sara, it's obviously a boy. Now, tell me all about him," Lena insisted.
