A month went by and the beloved couple got married. A small reception was held, close relatives and friends rejoiced as the couple emerged from the courthouse, and a new family was just beginning. Another few months had passed, and Marcus and Elizabeth couldn't have been more overjoyed if they had tried when they had found out that she had been with child.

"How is the painting coming?" The glowing Elizabeth walked into the wet pastel yellow nursery with a sandwich and water bottle as Marcus hopped down from his ladder.

"It's going fine, did Chris ever call back about whether or not he's giving us that cradle?" Elizabeth questioned as the tray was set down on the floor as he took a drink.

Lizzy snickered. "Actually, that's just it, he said he would build us one for our little..." She trailed off her words as Marcus's face lit up, but then turned to disappointment as she pursed her lips shut..

"Oooooh come on!! Tell me! You can't keep teasing me!!"

"You said you wanted it to be a surprise!!" His arms wrapped around her tightly, tickling her rounded sides. The soon-to-be-mother's laughter erupted as she tried to push away from him but he pulled her into a soft kiss.

"You're right, I did say that..." Marcus let out a soft smiling sigh and leaned against a wall with his wife leaning against his chest. "I still can't believe how many puns were tossed around at our wedding..."

Elizabeth let out an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes. "I never thought I would hear the end of them... 'Oh Elizabeth; you're a Bride now!!' Really, it was only funny the first HUNDRED times..."

"Hey, I'm just glad none of that came from my side-"

"Hey, we were lucky 2 people came from your side of the family-"

"Hey, you know my family doesn't get along."

Getting agitated, her voice slowly rose. "And? It's your wedding, they should have been there!!"

Marcus took a deep breath. "Honey, calm down, its over now. Relax."He put his hands on her shoulders, gently kissing the side of her neck and running his hands down her enlarged stomach.

Elizabeth took a deep breath in and slowly let it out. "Well, dinner should be ready around 5:30, so come on down when you're ready. I invited Chris to have dinner with us as well."

"Alright honey. Love you" She headed for the door but not before Marcus planted a kiss on her cheek.

A giggle escaped her lips. "I love you too honey."

Days began to pass more slowly as Lizzy's stomach began to blow up like a balloon. Around their six month anniversary, on a rainy spring night, Elizabeth had just settled down in bed with a book when she started to groan in pain. Marcus came upstairs with a bowl of soup but when he saw his wife laughing softly.

"What are you laughing about?"

"So I thought it was just discharge, but I think my water just broke!" She let out a hearty laugh.

"O-Oh god, oh god, what do we do?? Does it hurt? Can you move? Are you alright?" He yelled out, helping Elizabeth to her feet.

She rolled her eyes. "Go get a bag ready... I need to go to the hospital... I think contractions should start soon..."

Wendy sang delightfully, chopping up her freshly grown vegetables for a stew and fruit for a pie when a sudden sense of urge hit her like a train. Sweating profusely, her hands begun to shake. A clap of thunder roared through the night sky, causing a slip of the knife into her palm as she was cutting up an apple.
