"Mistress? Mistress!"
Emma snapped and looked beside her, only to see the maid hesitantly tried to poke her to get her attention focused.
She was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for her husband with the help of her trusted maids. Before the alarm clock rang, she was already up and set the table. The maid who's known by many as Madam Sylvia sighed and tapped her mistress on the back.
"I know that you're still disappointed about what happened last night...but don't let it get in the way of your responsibilities, okay?" She tried her best not to sound harsh as much as possible. She doesn't want Emma to get it in the wrong way.
Well, who the hell can have the will power to forget what had transpired last night? Of course, every wife who sees her husband drunk in the arms of another woman would be angry. However, Emma is different, not even an ounce of anger or emotions were visible on her face—even a contortion of disgust upon her face. None of them happened, she seems so nochalant about it too which made madam Sylvia worry for her mistress even more.
"Nah, its not about last night. I just got distracted." Emma lied, but it was a convincing lie that the maid didn't even doubt her.
'I heard that the heir had already set his eyes on you.'
Funny. Because the heir who had already set his eyes on her was actually an asshole who can't keep his dick inside his pants. Jumping into different sluts for one night guaranteed pleasure.
'I knew it from the beginning. Mother was lying and I can tell it.'
'Not only he ignored me throughout the years of being married to me, he also disrespected me as a wife and a woman by taking random sluts home.'
'We didn't even spoke after I married him. He acted like an uncaring bachelor. So damn stupid.'
The h/c colored woman failed to notice how hard she's chopping the carrots, madam Sylvia was once again worried for her mistress.
"Madam Sylvia, can you call Gojo-san downstairs and tell him his breakfast is ready?"
"Oh sure, mistress." The maid immediately complied and went upstairs. She was actually nervous to face her master for another day.
Gojo-san. Yes, Emma never addressed him by his actual name despite being married to him for two years. She cringes whenever she have to call her husband Satoru in public.
She noticed how her fingers trembled as she sliced the vegetables. She was sweating as she cooked.
No one will never know how broken she was, as her husband continued to trample her heart. She's supposed to be used to it by now, but, to think that she lets this man hurt her pained her even more.
Unlike on her younger days prior to this so damn marriage, she can retaliate and fight back. But now, she doesn't have the power to do it even though she's the wife of the most powerful man in the society. Gojo Satoru is the head of this household, therefore she can't scold him or tell him what he had to do.
'I'm just a wife on the paper, but as a person, I'm nothing but a stranger.'
Ever since Gojo Satoru married her, his attitude got worsen. Going home late at night to getting drunk and going home with another woman in their shared house. Good thing that they never ever had shared a room or even a bathroom. Their eating schedules were also different, it appears that Satoru purposely made the house bigger so that they will hardly see each other. That man was purposely giving her headache out of spite.
One day after their marriage...
"Remember this, even if we're married, that doesn't mean you should act like a wife." His voice was even more colder, his cerulean eyes were void. "Don't you dare meddle on my personal affairs or tell me what to do. You're nothing but only a wife to me by name."
