{Salice's POV}
"Attention passengers, we have arrived in New York City. Time, 6:32pm. Weather, 64 degrees. Date, August 21, 2015. Clear skies, sun is about to set. Hope you all had a enjoyable flight. Have a nice evening." The captain announces, waking me up from my deep sleep. I fix my seat up right and take out my headphones. Fixing my hair a little bit and stuffing my phone into my pocket. People start to get off the plane, I grab my bags and quickly get off.
I roll my suitcases out of the airport. I walk into New York air. Taking a big huge breath. I close my eyes and start to grin. I start to giggle as I suddenly realize I'm not in Thomasville! I'm not in a town! I'm in THE New York City. I have the world in my hands, or so it feels like it. I open my eyes when suddenly someone bumps into me. "Ay, watch where you're going, girl!" A man spits as he continues to walk along. I puff out a sigh and try calling a taxi.
Not a single taxi stops, I keep waving my hand at every cab but none seem to notice me. I see a girl, in high fashion with a bunch of shopping bags raise her hand and a taxi comes stops right infront of her. How do I do that? Waving my hand at every taxi, still having no luck.
Finally I catch a cab and I hop inside. "Where you going today, lady?" The cab driver asks me. I check my phone to see what my apartment was called, obviously forgetting. "Um..GoldCrest Apartments." I reply, putting my phone away. He nods and drives away. I watch out the window, I watch all of the action going on. It's like 7pm! And these people seem like their day just started. In Georgia, everyone is basically in bed by now. I giggle at the city. Soon, I'll be just like all these people.
"Ma'am, we here. Price is $13.40." The cab driver says, interrupting my amusement. Acknowledging him, I swipe my card in the money machine thing. What even is this? I haven't see this in my entire life! I thank the driver and get out. Grabbing my suitcase out of the trunk, I run to my building. I run inside and go to the front desk. I ask for my keys and apartment number. Thanking the lady, I run to the elevator. My apartment is on the 18th floor. Clicking number 18, watching the elevator close. I jump a little, I'm so excited. The elevator reaches my floor and I run to my door, number 1802. I insert the card in when I see a guy coming out of the apartment next to mine. He has a TV and computer and a few electronics in his hand. He runs out leaving the door open. It's almost as he..just robbed that place. I gasp and get infront of the guy. What am I doing.
"I don't think you should be doing that." I simply say as he stops really close to me. I absorb his emerald eyes flooding my head. He looks at me with a death glare. "Out of my way." He whispers, threatening me with his eyes. My whole body tightens up as I realize how tall he is compared to me. He could kill me without even trying. "I said, out of my way." He growls into my ear. My eyes go wide as he puts his hand on my shoulder. A very tight grip, he pushes me to the side. "S-stealing is w-wrong." I whisper, wishing I hadn't said that. He turns around facing me. My back is against the hallway wall, he comes really close to my ear. "If you think stealing is wrong, you don't want to know what I else I can do." He whispers and a smirk lays on his mouth. He breathes into my ear for a minute. Taking full advantage of my vulnerable actions. His warm breathe makes me freeze. I almost feel like crying. He finally walks off, turning back once more. "I'll be back." He then runs down the hall and down the stairs. My body loosens up and I stop my hands from shaking, not even realizing they were out of control.
What did I just get myself into.
