Prologue

{Salice's POV}

Thomasville, Georgia.
A little old town in a little old state. The place I was born in, my home. Some people might say it's too small or that it's too ordinary, but I say it's perfect. It's beautiful, it's natural, it's pleasant. Leaving my extraordinary home, will probably be the hardest thing I will ever do.

I'm going to university today. A university in a place where a girl like me, would be terrified to go to. A girl like me, who would never last in a place like where I am going. A girl like me wouldn't even dare to.

I'm going to New York City.

I couldn't agree less if someone told me I wouldn't be able to last. I'm terrified. Being brought up in a town like Thomasville, it's insane to go to such a big city. But I have dreams, like every other person in this world. And I would like to pursue my dreams. Even if my family and everyone else in this itty town says it's impossible.

All my life, people have been telling me not to dream too big. Bad things happen to people who have huge imaginations. I guess I'm going to be taking a risk. People tell me that I'm not going to be able to survive in such a big place.

Well I guess I'm going to have to learn to live.
