Nia's POV

The world hasn't been unfair to me but it wasn't exactly fair either. I graduated college after years of brutally fighting against myself and my parents to ensure that I could do as they liked but also pursue my own happiness and today it would all  be worth it.

"Nia could you hurry your ass up you're gonna be late. Also we're out of milk could you pick some up on your way back." my bestfriend called from outside my room of the apartment we shared together. Her name is Claire and her attitude isn't like her name it's dark and cloudy. The opposite of me.

"I'm almost done" I said walking out of my room. I have an interview today at one of the most well- known company in the fashion industry. This was my dream job but not my parents'. As I've said before I've had to fight against them to study fashion while studying business as they pleased.

"How do I look?" I asked walking out of the room to stand in front of Claire to get her opinion on my outfit after all who else could I count on to be brutally honest if not her.

She looked at me for a couple seconds and smirked. " If I was your soon to be boss I would fuck you before I hire you."

Why can't she say one darn nice thing without making it nasty. But then again if she did then she wouldn't be my bestfriend.

I rolled my eyes at her response and grabbed my bag walking to the door.

"Don't forget the milk!" she yelled after me.

I walked down the hall and to the elevator. After the short elevator ride I was on my way to my car and was soon on the road to the company I was confident would be my new home away from home.

The drive there was around thirty minutes and that was without the dreadful thing all working adults dread... traffic.

I soon stood outside of a huge building with clammy hands and a racing heart all confidence known to me before was now gone and all I could chant in my head was "milk, milk." Damn you Claire for getting that flabber noodle of a word stuck in my head. My steps felt heavy and I wished my mind was blank but no that word was still there.

I took what I hoped to be confident steps towards the receptionist area on the first floor and was met with this woman who seemed to be maybe 10 years older than me. She flashed me with a warm smile when she realized I was standing in front of her.

"Hello, how may I help you?" she asked smile still intact.

I could tell it was genuine and that made what little confidence I had come right back. If she was so happy on a Monday at work then this place must have an amazing work environment.

"Yes, I'm here for an interview with Mr. Andrews for the new opening of Fashion designer. My name's Nia Richardson." I said returning her smile. She nodded, got up and told me to follow her. She brought me to the elevator and pressed the top floor; the 36 floor.

"The CEO's office is the only office on the 36th floor. It's very quiet but also a walking scare." she explained.

"Scare?" I asked.

That was not making me feel any better.

"Well let's just say when he's in his office you better walk up there praying he's being nice and not naughty." she said while shivering as to give a physical response of how disgusted she was of what she may have witnessed.

I only decided to nod. I mean what else could I do. That wasn't something I could come up with a response for if I didn't have a hour to process. I mean I wouldn't peg myself as the innocent' innocent type. But others would I mean, I'm a 23 year old virgin and I don't even curse.
