Nia's POV

Back to work. Monday was a day I never hated regardless of how much others did. But gosh did my boss change that. I dreaded the moment I would have to enter that office.

I got to work and there was already so much work on my desk and I needed to finish before lunch because Mr. Andrews had a meeting today, which, I of course have to attend.

To ensure nothing went wrong I double checked all the necessary files and bought a fruit dish to eat for lunch before we headed to the meeting room.

My heart was beating out of my chest and my emotions were on a high, this is after all my first meeting with important associates of the company, and I can't afford to make a mistake.

Soon I was walking behind Mr. Andrews into the meeting room where everyone stood up to pay respect to him. He confidently walked to the chair at the head of the sat down, and only then did everyone follow and sat back down.

"Let's begin." he commanded while I stood behind him.

No seat was available for me, so this was my only option.

"There has been a decrease in the profits for the last four months, while requests keep getting sent in for an increase in the budgets." Mr. Andrews addressed while making a gesture for me to hand out the files which contained all the information of what he was stating. "Would anyone like to explain why that is or do I just need to start signing resignation papers?" he continued.

I could see men old enough to be his parents squirm in their seats under his terrifying gaze.

I, however, had no time to be scared, I had to take meeting minutes and ensure they were taken well even though I had to write standing up.

Mr. Andrews paid no mind to me suffering behind him and instead continued to stare down each individual in the room.

"So, no one has anything to say. When you were all sending the employees from your teams to my office with your absurd requests, I'm sure you spoke to them confidently!" he yelled slamming his hands on the desk causing everyone in the room to jump including me.

I was so scared the pen in my hand fell rolling right to the side of his chair and my heart leaped for a second. I didn't want to get that close to him, but I needed to if I wanted to get all of the information written down. I prayed a silent prayer and made my way to stand beside him and bent down to retrieve the pen.

This may not be the best time to be thinking this, but he looked really attractive angry. From where I was, I could see the fire in his eyes. His jaw was clenched, and you could see the little stubble on his face and how much more defined his jaw was. He was now gripping the edge of the table causing his muscles to flex and the image of his six packs from the first day we met came flashing in my head. His dark hair was slicked back but an unruly strand covered his eye, and I had the urge to brush it.

I came to my senses when he turned his hand and caught me staring at him in my position.

"Do you plan on staying there all day or are you going to get up and do your job Ms. Richardson?" he inquired. I quickly stood up and made my way to stand behind him once again pen and book in hand.

He turned his head back to the table and started scolding everyone once again which went on for the next hour or so.

The meeting soon ended with him assigning every department the task of coming up with a promotional idea for the store.

My feet we're killing me, and I could feel my skin burning on the back of feet from my heels.

I should have worn flats, but I had no idea I would have to stand the entire meeting or that it would take that long and most of it was spent with my boss just yelling at people.

Regardless of how good he looked mad he shouldn't have made it seem as if everyone isn't trying their hardest. Most of those men in there were old enough to be his father and he raised his voice at them without the least bit of respect for their age.

The walk back to the office was quiet except for the occasional hiss of pain that came from me that Mr. Andrews chose to ignore.

Of course, the devil would not care about the pain of others rather he enjoys it and finds joy and excitement from it.

Mr. Andrews walked straight to his desk and sat down loosening his tie and letting out a breath.

I on the other hand was searching my bag to find band-aids for the back of my feet for some sort of relieve. I didn't even have enough time to relax after patching myself up before I was ordered to report the minutes of the meeting to my boss and his upcoming events. Which of course had to be done standing in front of his desk like a student presenting to a teacher.

"Okay, good now can you please send out an email to all employees about the promotional event each employee can bring in their ideas, including you and we will decide which is the best. The person with the best idea will be given a 5% bonus and a paid week off. This is all due in the next three business days. They can bring their projects home and work from there in their free time also." he announced.

"I'm allowed to participate in this also?" I inquired puzzled. "If I do that wouldn't that be taking way from my work time to complete the work given to me by you sir?" I questioned.

He chuckled a foreign sound coming from him "who said that you will have less time to complete the work assigned by me, you will complete all of them and on time and your workload will not lessen you have a job and will continue to work under that description. You simply have something else to complete so if I were you, I would make a cup of coffee, for me of course, and get right to work." he advised or more like ordered.

This butthole of a man.

I simply nodded which seems to be my equivalent of biting my tongue around him and went to make him his cup of coffee, which I'm sure I'll need more than him.

I head back to my desk and started on my tasks. The emails were soon sent out and next I had files to start organizing and type up.

That within itself took me a long time and it was time to head home when I finished.

I started packing up after checking that I did everything I needed with the intention of heading home to start on my promotional idea.

"Why are you packing up?" my boss mutters from his side of the room looking at the files on his desk.

"To head home sir." I responded.

"Home?" he repeated. "Did I say you can go home?" he asked.

I shook my head looking at him.

"Words, use your words." he ordered.

"No sir." I gulped. "But I assumed since I was finished and had the project to work on I could head home early today." he explained.

"I do not pay you to assume Ms. Richardson, I pay you to do as I say." he corrected.

"But sir I-"I started.

"If you are hungry go get food nothing cheap that would give me a headache from the smell but you are not leaving." he commanded.

I stared at him baffled and dumbfounded.

"For the rest of the night you are mine."
