In the past

Katsuki's age : 8

Katsuki frowned while listening to the sounds of arguments and raging voices.This isn't the first time Mitsuki and that old man fought.Although young,katsuki can sort of understand what they were saying.Whenever katsuki tries to intervene to loosen the tension,he just gets ignored or gets pushed backwards.

Mitsuki would often cry while sitting on the couch after the argument.Katsuki would go up to her and comfort her but she would just say things like "it's ok honey, I'm ok." "Don't worry,this has nothing to do with you so it is fine.".But was it truly OK ?

Mitsuki,bring the busy woman she is,was always working after the arguments to spend less time in the house.Mitsuki would come home at times but that would be from midnight til dawn before she takes off again.And that old man... he doesn't really work and just stays at the house.

He always laze around the sofa and ignore katsuki all the way.The old man wouldn't cook katsuki's share because apparently "it wasn't his responsibility" and he "didn't care ".He paid no attention to katsuki what so ever.

Katsuki would take this time to play around with Deku.Izuku is always spotted around with his loving mother whom supported Deku,something that Katsuki couldn't have at that time.

Inko would often ask katsuki about where Mitsuki was and why she wasn't accompanying him.However katsuki just shrugged.

Maybe,he wasn't worthy enough like Deku to have his parents attention?

The best people always gets spotted while the lower ranks gets shaded.

The logic sadly applies everywhere in this world,people who aren't the best wouldn't get as much attention.

Katsuki was naturally good at everything,you know.Good at his academics,athletics,generally almost everything.

But there is one thing he can never get at this point,it's his parents affection and time.Katsuki wanted,no,NEEDED to be the best.better than anyone,even that damn nerd just to get attention.

He needs to be...perfect.

He even puts up a facade.Katsuki's true self wasn't perfect so he had to put up a mask to cover up all his mistakes and insecurities.No one would like his true self more than his fake personality anyway.He doesn't even know what his true self is like anymore,his facade is just a projection of how he wants to be seen as.

But...was it really worth it ? To katsuki,of course it was.

Back to present day

Fun fact : in this AU,bakugou takes up part time jobs and sometimes even does modelling jobs.This is all to pay for his dorms and stuff,his parents do not pay anything for him nor do they give him money.

Aizawa was giving back the major test that he recently marked.

Katsuki doesn't want to admit but he especially  studied really hard for this test.It was a very confusing topic that left half of class 1a feeling stupid

"And this year the student with the best marks is....oh...Momo.Then followed by bakugou then midoriya."

Aizawa said with no enthusiasm.It looked like he really wanted to sleep and get this over with.
