July 7th 2016
This was the date I first went to Toronto Canada my dad got a new job to be the Toronto Blue Jays batting couch. It was different with the weather and people. Holy the weather is so cold then what it is in Dallas but the people here are so kind I thought to myself. Right away my dad signed me up for baseball.
"Come and eat!" My dad yelled from downstairs. I rolled out of bed and jumped down the stairs. I took my seat at the empty table with only my dad sitting across from me.
"Did you here about anything for baseball." I asked my dad
"Yeah, I did but it's a girls and boys league but it has more potential for you to do better,"
"Why does it have to be boys and girls?"
"I don't know sweetie, I don't make the rules,"
I made a big sigh noise and we both ate in silence.

It didn't take long before my dad was never home but luckily I started baseball again. The whole team was filled with boys and only 5 girls including me were on our team. We started with basic catching and the girls did catching with the boys on the team to get use to the fact there are two genders on this baseball team. My first practice was over and there was no sign of my dad. I continued walking the way to my house when someone began to talk to me.
"Can I walk with you?" He asked me
He was on my baseball team and in fact he was my partner in catching. His name was Bo but everyone called him by his last name. I let Bo walk with me and he soon knew a lot about my life; except my name but soon asked
"I never got your name, what is it." Bo asked
"Oh... it's Ashlynn,"
He smiled and said "that name suits you,"
I made it to my house to only find out that Bo lived a few houses down.

I walked in my front door while Bo kept walking home.
I yelled to Bo "I'll see you in two days!"
Bo turned back and smiled and waved at me. I closed the door and immediately dropped my ball stuff. I walked inside the kitchen to see my dad left a note for me
Dear Ashlynn,
I'm sorry, I won't be home early enough to say good night to you and ask how your ball practice was.
Love Dad

Of course my dad was busy doing something. The time was now 7:00 and I was beginning to get hungry.
"We have nothing to eat!" I said when I looked in the fridge and freezer. I grabbed the pizza delivery number and called it on our home phone.
"Welcome to Pizza Hut what can I get you?" The teenage boy asked on the phone.
"Hi, can I get a Hawaiian pizza,"
"No," he responded back before saying " joking what size would you like?"
"Medium please,"
"Ok it should be done in 35 minutes,"
"Aright, I'll come and get it,"
I hung up the phone and got myself ready, the walk would take 26 minutes and I would just eat it there. As I was locking the door and about to leave I heard a familiar voice.
"Where are you going?" It was Bo
"Are you stalking me?" I jokingly asked
"No, I'm just going for a run, what are you doing,"
Hearing him going on a run made me embarrassed since I was going to get a pizza. I ignored his question and continued to walk.
"I'm concerned your following me," I said
"Maybe I am," Bo replied back
"Fine, I going to get something to eat," I finally said

We both walked together until we got to the Pizza Hut. The pizza was already done. We both sat down and I opened the pizza box.
Bo excitedly said "you like pineapple on pizza!"
I already had food in my mouth but nodded my head.
"Same," he said and took a slice from the pizza box.

During the summer, me and Bo began to get close and before I noticed school was beginning and baseball was over. One day, during lunch time me and Bo went out for pizza.
Bo asked me "Ashlynn would you like to go on a date and not just getting pizza we can go to a nice restaurant,"
I smiled at Bo and said "yeah, how about Saturday?"
We both agreed on that day and went back to school. From Wednesday the day Bo asked me to go on a date and Friday the day before we would go on the date seemed quick.

I never ended up telling my dad about going on my first date but I did tell my mom from heaven. My mom died from breast cancer when I was 12 and once she passed away my dad finally took the job in Toronto once they offered it to him 3 years later. He would always tell me we were started a new life. Saturday then came and we met at the restaurant we decided to meet at. The date went well but we stayed close friends even thought we both liked each other.

Everyday was the same until the last week of school arrived and everyone was doing crazy stuff to ask someone to graduation. It was the day before graduation and no one asked to take me. I did buy a dress but I was deciding not to go. I was surprised Bo never asked me or anyone until there was a knock on the door
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
When I opened the door it was Bo. He had a sign saying would you come to graduation with me? I said yes to Bo and he told me he couldn't wait to see me tomorrow.

It was the day of graduation and also the last day of school. I didn't show up to school since I was getting ready for graduation. Kids were now getting back from school and I was almost done getting ready. I was happy my dad was able to get the day off for his daughter. I was done getting ready and my dad was done taking all the pictures of me when Bo knocked on the door and my dad invited him in the house, he looked at me from head to toe. My hair was down and I was wearing a fancy light blue dress that I would never wear in less it was an occasion like this. I wanted to wear a pair of sneakers but my dad insisted on wearing a pair of heels; My dad choose a pair of silver heels that weren't too tall. Of course my dad had to take a picture of me and Bo together before he let us leave.

We made it to the school with Bo's mom and dad driving us. Me and Bo danced and had fun but during the slow dance Bo whispered to me "I'm going to miss you," I was confused what he meant because even though school was done and over for now I was still gonna see him almost everyday with baseball and him living so close to me.
"Let's get out of here," Bo said and the two of us left the school. We walked around town when we walked by a Pizza Hut.
"Let's get a pizza," I said and the two of us laughed and talked while we ate a Hawaiian pizza. Bo took me home and before he said good bye to me he gave me a kiss and left.

It was the next day and also the first day of baseball practice but Bo wasn't there. Maybe he couldn't make it today I thought but after a few days I started to get concerned Bo hasn't been to baseball nor has Bo been going on his runs every evening. After I finished my baseball game of the season and Bo wasn't there I decided to make the decision to go to his house. His mom answered the door and what she told me made me sad and heartbroken.
"Hi, is Bo home?" I asked
Bo's mom said " No, did Bo not tell you he got advanced to MiLB in Buffalo,"
"WHAT!" I responded back "I never got to say goodbye to him,"
"I'm so sorry Ashlynn," his mom said to me and gave me his number on a piece of paper before I left.
