July 19th 2018
I never got to see Bo again since graduation of 2016, it's now 2018 and I turned 18 this year. I always wanted to call the number Bo's mom gave but I couldn't bare to hear Bo's voice again. I was always upset in the fact that he wasn't able to tell me about him going to the MiLB. Since that day I would always watch the sports channels and a few times I took time to go to Buffalo and watched his games
"Wow, Bo has improved a lot!" I said to the girl beside me who was at one of his games. I think she thought I meant when Bo first came to Buffalo but I was thinking when he played with me."Hey Ashlynn, come over here," my dad asked
I left the dining room to the living room where my dad had his glasses on and on his phone.
"Look what this says!" He said
I looked at my dad's phone and read out loud
"For this years draft Bo Bichette is eligible to get drafted,"
I raised my eyebrows and looked at my dad who already had his eyes on me.
"When are they doing the draft?" I asked my dad
"The 29th of this month," my dad told me with a sigh
That's only in ten days!" I bursted outThose ten days went by and the entire time I would secretly hear my dad talking to his team saying they need to get Bo Bichette on the Blue jays. It was officially the night of the MLB, I stayed home that night. I wore a plaid pair of Pyjama pants that I would always trip on since they were too long for my legs and ordered a Hawaiian pizza. I turned the TV and went to the channel that was recording tonight's draft. After 30 minutes a knock came from the front door. When I opened it, it was the pizza deliver. I handed him the money but felt something weird about him, until I realized he was the same who asked me my order the first time I ordered Pizza Hut. He stared at me as I did the same to him; he must of remembered me as well
"Where have you been?" I jokingly asked "I haven't seen you in two years,"
Logan smiled, I knew his name only because it said it on the right side of his shirt.
Logan started to say " I found this girl and she ended up being trouble, I would always skip my shifts for her and one day she came to my house and told me she was pregnant,"
I interrupted Logan and told him to come inside since it was getting cold outside. I closed the door and invited Logan to the living room.
Logan continued to talk and said he shares part time custody for his daughter who just turned 1. Me and Logan continued talking until I realize it was the second round and the Blue Jays were up to pick next. I put my finger over Logan's lips and the two of us listened to the TV.For the second round pick the Toronto Blue Jay pick Bo Bichette a shortstop from Orlando Florida
I quickly got up from the couch and cheered so loud a few dogs began to bark. After I finished getting all my excitement out I flopped back on the couch with me and Logan's thighs touching each-others. As the time went by, which was only 15 minutes I fell asleep on Logan's shoulder. Logan soon left after and I spent the night on the couch without touching the pizza.
The next morning, I got up and checked my phone, no one messaged me so I set my phone down and went up stairs, when I knocked on my dad's door there was no answer no was he in there when I opened the door. I continued walking down the hall and into my bed room where Bo's number was waiting for me on my desk. I continued to look at the number before I picked it up and decided it's finally time to call the number. I went back downstairs with the piece of paper in my hand. Once I had my phone and I was standing in the kitchen I made the phone call. I hoped then he switched his phone number but after 3 rings the phone picked up.
"Hello?" The person said
A smile grew on my face to know it was Bo. I responded back and said hi but before I was gonna say something else the phone died.
"CRAP!" I said and quickly ran to find a charger. It took me awhile but once I did I couldn't have the gut to call him again instead I left home a message saying congratulations but he'll probably never see that message.
