A little too early

TANJIRO'S POV:

"Tanjiro, are you going to town again today?" "I wanna go too!" My siblings cried out as my mom intervened, "No, you can't walk fast like Tanjiro." "But mom!" "No. He isn't bringing the cart today, so he won't be able to pull you when you're tired." As I was listening to my mom Shigeru then came over and hugged me as they continued to beg me uncontrollably. After a while, then I was off to the village to sell some charcoal, in hopes to get enough in return to have a good New Year's feast.

As I descended down the mountain I started thinking to myself about how when happiness ends, there's always the smell of blood.

"Oh, Tanjiro!" One of the men from the village said, greeting me with a smile, holding a piece of bamboo.

"Aaaaaahh! Tanjiro! You're just in time! She says I broke A dish! Help me, smell it! One of the other people said in the village asking for help to prove his innocence. As I was asked, I then smelled the broken dish and I guess the guy was innocent, "I smell a cat." I said in order to resolve the problem. "A cat? Oh dear." The old lady said. The guy then screamed at her.

As I was on my way back up the mountain I was then stopped by Old Man Saburo. "Hey Tanjiro! You aren't going back up the mountain are you!?" He said, "It's dangerous."

It was odd that he asked, but I then assured him that I would be okay. He then wore a scared and worried expression on his face as I continued to descend up the mountain to my house, where my happy family waited for my return.

Like I said earlier… when happiness comes to an end…the smell of blood lurks. I started to run as I could then see my family being slaughtered by a humanoid creature. The demon all of a sudden stopped as I could then see him finish off my sister with one last punch in the gut before he then noticed me and turned his head to face me. 'Maybe I should've listened to Old Man Saburo earlier' I said to myself as the smell of blood continued to lurk in the air.

"Do you wish to become a demon and work for me." The demon said, sounding very demanding and strict in tone. My body didn't respond to his words as I continued to look at my now deceased mom, sister's and brother's. "Not going to say anything, huh?" The demon then said again in the same tone. "Guess I'll have to choose for you." It was then when I looked back over at the demon who had plum red eyes, with his pupils in the shape of slits so sharp they could cut through paper with one slice. The demon then came face to face with me and quickly pierced his finger with his long nail into my shoulder, then from the sudden injection I screamed out in extreme pain wondering how I'm still alive and why he hasn't killed me off yet like my other family members. It was then after a few minutes of excruciating pain that it had stopped and my body went numb and then blacked out and fell to the floor.

Why did I choose this fate...I had so much to live up to, I had the chance to live, but I still chose to end up like the rest of my family.
