Okay so I'm rewatching Descendants for the third time and after watching the scene with Ben Carlos and dude I thought there could be a little something there and then I saw the scene of the love potion in the cookie and I thought 'what if ben fell in love with someone else instead' as in someone walking last or the potion not working instantly and Mal thinking she messed up. And then I thought what if that person was Carlos? Like he could've been walking past trying to see if the plan was working and Ben got distracted for a second and looked at Carlos instead (and I'm guessing that the potion works by whoever you look at first considering jays reaction when they were in the kitchen and someone ate the unfinished cookie dough/love potion) or if it didn't work immediately then maybe Ben and Carlos were talking before the game and it worked then, I'm not really sure, but then imagine that ben spelt out Carlos' name and everyone gets so confused because why would the prince be spelling out the name of the villain kid who can barely play tourney after a game and it could just go in from there. And I just got really excited about this idea and had to write it down and this was the best place to do so :)
