The White in Their Eyes- Chapter 7

Dialu's POV

"You're crazy!" The Prince shouted.

"We're not, we swear!" Tatiani stated.

I couldn't blame him.

Two guards walked up to the Prince and grabbed him arm from arm, dragging him away.

"Hey! Let the Prince go!" I shouted at the guards. They laughed. Their eyes through were a milky white. They couldn't see? What was happening?

I grabbed a guards arm, and then proceed to rip off his helmet.

"Ash, brainwash him or something!" Tatiani shouted.

He tried, but his hands burnt.

So the guards were brainwashed by someone else. I booted a guard in the stomach, causing him to let go of the Prince. Tatiani threw me her fencing sword, and as the guard spun round, I sliced his neck.

I dropped the sword and looked back at the dead prince on the floor.

I had killed Tatiani's brother. For real this time.

"Oh my God. You are a monster." Tatiani said, cupping her face.

I looked at her and stood back a little.

"I will kill you."

A rope flew from her hand and around my neck. She pulled me away and out of the cave.

"I don't even know why I helped you. You killed my brother." Tatiani said.

"I was going for the guard! Ashba was in the way!" I said, trying to breathe.

She took me inside the castle. Down the stairs, into the cells.

"MOTHER!" She shouted.

The Queen came rushing down, seeing a wolf in a cell, growling and biting at the bars.

"I found this wolf roaming outside. He killed Ashba." Tatiani said. The Queen cupped her face, just like she did.

She was right, she was going to kill me.

That same night, Fi came around to see me, in my shackles.

"Oh, you're alive still I see." Fi said.

"Is that a bad thing?" I asked.

"No. I was thinking we could bust you out of here."

"Aren't you supposed to be on Tatiani's side?"

"Depends. I'm doing my job right if it means I'm changing her course."

"How do you suppose we get me out of here?"

"Replace Tatia's memory, so it seems like you were framed to kill the gurds while you were both in town. She was with her sister and her brother, Tatia's wanting to help you and Tatl told her to tell the Queen it was you when you were framed by a traveller."

"Not too bad. One problem though."

"What?"

"How do we convince everyone else?"

"We don't. Tatiani comes here at night and gets you to a safe place in the town and she stays with you."
