"Why are you grinning like a fucking idiot? It's not something to celebrate about!" I hissed at Senju, who is happily holding her cup of coffee

"Nothing, I'm just happy for you," she answered and giggled, ugh!

"I do not wish to be associated to any of them," I answered and rolled my eyes as I looked outside the coffee shop

"You really can't remember him?" Senju asked, "like, for real?"

I looked at her in confusion, am I supposed to remember him?

"I'm sorry," Senju suddenly said, "I forgot about the, uh, accident."

Right, the accident that took place when I was thirteen. I don't remember much about it, and only Senju came to me since then. She told me we were childhood friends, and really helped me get back with my life.

"Is he a friend from before?" my curiosities perked up, "Ran Haitani, right?"

Senju nodded, "don't bother researching on it, your head will hurt again."

These past few years, I tried digging into what my past looked like. Why I was in that accident in the first place, but all I got are series of headaches from trying too hard. My doctor said chances are it will come back on its own. I wonder if Ran is the trigger to getting my memories back.

"Oh! They're here," Senju pointed from the window

I turned around and looked at them. Three men with such colorful hairs got down from the car. I know them, dad introduced me to them last night and asked them to provide security for me. I don't know if they, the executives, will do it personally.

Ran immediately winked at me and waved, the red string connecting him to me. I rolled my eyes and sat straight, sipping on my afternoon tea as peacefully as I could.

Sanzu immediately walked inside the shop and made his way to us, he bowed to me as a respect, probably, and turned to Senju while raising his brow at her

"And how come I was not aware that you aren't in the house?" he asked, making Senju choke on her drink

"That's something you'd do, too!" Rindou spoke up, "the design is very Akashi. Hello, Y/N!"

I smiled and waved at him, but the smile disappeared when Ran pulled a chair beside me and sat. I looked at him to low-key tell him he's not welcome to sit beside me, but he just pulled out his phone to check his e-mails.

Sanzu and Rindou were immediately talking about what they did earlier, Senju listening to them with so much admiration in her eyes for the shit they do for "work". I guess some people are just really bloodlust type but personally, I will never understand.

"You wanna eat out?" I flinched when Ran spoke beside me, I looked at him and he's still scrolling on his phone. I guess he wasn't talking to me.

But I was proven wrong when he held my thigh gently, making me look at him right away. And there he is, with a smile like he has never killed and abused people before. A smile.. that looks like it was made just for me.

"Are you okay, Ms. Satomi? You look bothered," he pointed out

"N-no," I answered and faked a cough, "were you asking me earlier?"

He chuckled at that, "do I look like I'm talking to Rindou? Of course you, dummy."

"You were scrolling your phone, how would I know?" I rolled my eyes, my pride not accepting the fact that he was logical

"I'm sorry, I was just checking texts from your father," he said, "anyway, I know a place. Can I take you out tonight?"

He does look sincere, and all my life, I only saw that sincerity on Senju. It's not so bad to open up my world now, right? Especially with him.

"Sure."

He stood up and offered his hand to me, and I gladly took it. He intertwined his fingers with mine and held it so gently, like he's afraid of breaking me.

"Well, if you'd excuse us, we have an impromptu date to go to," he said

"It's not a date!" I protested right away but he just chuckled

Rindou was also protesting about the fact that he wasn't invited but Sanzu held him back to make sure he won't come with us.

We were inside his car when my cellphone beeped, a message from Senju
