Bill's P.o.V
"Well...I don't wanna disappoint my new Mystery Buddy." Pine Tree stated in a surprisingly chipper tone. It made Bill's heart skip a beat, wait he doesn't have a heartbeat.... Whatever... the demon just chalked it up to him being happy that his plan seemed to be going off without a hitch. Yep had to be because of that, Plan: Get the male twin brat to trust me so I can take over this dimension is going smooooothly. Bill thought to himself with satisfaction. However, the demon had been thinking about this for far too long and Pine Tree began to backtrack. "Sorry, was that a...joke or something. Did you not actually wanna--" He stammered out, clearly flustered.
"Oh no Pinetree, I wasn't joking about that. Mystery Buddies fo' life!" Bill cheered, grinning (if he could) at the idea of the little sapling waltzing right into the palm of his hand. "So, kid, what's the plan we gonna just stake out at that place from the note?" Bill asked as Pinetree walked out of his room. The boy hummed for a second, pondering as he hopped down the stairs.
"Yeah, pretty much." He said as he walked out of the door. To Bill, he seemed excited and far more happy than before when he was moping over his sister not wanting to mystery hunt with him. Jeez why didn't I think of doing it like this before, I'll be able to have my way so much faster than I could've anticipated. Bill thought to himself, brimming with glee. Pinetree walked into the forest, a clear target in his mind. Bill remembered that the sapling had been to the crystal grove before, so this didn't surprise him. It didn't take long for the two to arrive at the grove, the kid settling down on a tree's roots and leaning his head against his legs.
For some reason, Bill had a sense of unease as the time of the meeting grew nearer and nearer. Something about the situation seemed off, but they were in too deep to back out. But I feel like I'm forgetting something the symbol...it felt familiar. He contemplated, humming quietly to himself.
As he heard footsteps approach, his non-existent stomach plummeted as he finally remembered the symbols origin.
Dipper's P.o.V
Dipper sighed, listening to Bill hum in his head. He glanced at the watch on his wrist, 4:59, nearly time but no one had shown up yet. Odd. He thought, looking around. Yet he ate that sentiment quickly as he heard countless footsteps approaching. He ducked, keeping low in the foliage as what had to be 3 men walked straight past him.
Kid! Bill suddenly shouted, nearly making Dipper leap out of his skin.
I know, I know Bill. They are here. Dipper sighed, adjusting his position to peek into the clearing where a whole group of people were gathering. All of them were donned in purple robes and chatted amongst themselves. Then a final figure approached, getting atop a rock to stand above the others.
This person had fancier robes they were trimmed with gold and had a large eye on the hood, it was also gold and the pupil seemed to stare right at Dipper. He must be the leader to whatever cult this is Dipper thought, a chill running down his spine as the man began to speak.
"Today we will be welcoming a very special guest." He said in a calm yet commanding voice, the cultists started murmuring excitedly. Dipper had a bad feeling so he started to shift backwards but he felt a hand clasping around the back of his shirt. Dipper was yanked to his feet and thrown into the clearing. "Hello, symbol boy." The leader said, Dipper could see the man's mouth under the hood and it curled into a wicked smile.
"We knew you'd come when my friend dropped that letter." He told the teen as the crowd closed into around him. "The tree's curiosity reaches the sky."
"What the hell, you guys are freaks!" Dipper shouted, standing up straight but these people were all taller than him. If Mable were here... Dipper shook his head, no Mable isn't here I have to get out of this myself.
"It is time yet again my brothers." The leader spoke, spurring his flock to move in on Dipper.
Kid you have to get out of there! Bill urged, the dream demon seemed really worried. Dipper was about to shoot a remark back at Bill when the cult leader spoke again.
"We will sacrifice you, symbol boy, to our holy demon, the all-seeing, all-knowing eye, Bill Cipher." Dipper's stomach sank at these words, getting lower and lower as the cultists chanted Bill's name.
K-kid it this is not what you think. Bill stammered out fruitlessly as, at this point, Dipper wasn't listening to him.
God I should've known! Why did I trust Bill? This was all probably a part of his plans! Dipper shouted to himself, wanting to slap himself if only he wasn't already in mortal peril. A cultist grabbed his arm and Dipper instinctively punched him, it wasn't a hard punch, just enough to make him let go of the teen and stumble back revealing an opening which Dipper took, shoving the cultists and dashing into the woods. They gave chase, he was hopping over tree trunks and ducking under branches but they always seemed right behind Dipper.
Muffling the sounds of their footsteps and shouting was the sound of Dipper's own blood rushing in his ears and a voice he didn't really want to hear right now. Kid, watch out! Bill screamed the warning but it was too late, a tree root snagged Dipper's foot and sent him nose first into the leaf-litter and dirt on the ground. The footsteps got closer but Dipper couldn't stand back up, pain flooding his senses.
"Damn it! Damn it!" Dipper hissed, wincing as he looked over his shoulder. His leg had a huge gash in the calf, which is why he couldn't stand up again. Tears ran down his cheeks as he thought about everything, his regrets, and things he wished he could've done since it seemed like this is how he'd die.
Pinetree, let me possess you, I can get these guys to stop chasing you! Bill urged him, seeming genuine but that didn't matter to Dipper at this point.
"Yeah right!!" Dipper yelled, dragging himself further down the path, but his yell alerted the cultist guys. He didn't care, continuing to yell at Bill, "YOU probably caused this, how stupid was I to trust you? This is probably just another scheme to get what you want."
It's not, kid. No deals, no schemes, right now I just want to save you. Bill urged and Dipper felt a bit of a tug at his heart. He seemed...so...
"Fine..." The teen croaked, shutting his eyes and flopping over, blacking out from the pain.
