Jace
"Have you noticed the stars are quite bright tonight, Jace?", Will murmured as he looked up at the sky while staying hidden in the bush.
He could almost see Jace rolling his eyes at the back of his head and Will couldn't help but smirk. Jace motioned Will to follow and slowly crept forward while staying hidden. They have been sent to some parts of Australia to check on any human endangerment as there are rumors amongst the humans living there of monster sightings. Will trails behind him overseeing any slight movements in their surroundings. Jace froze when he heard a soft deep growl somewhere close to him. While crouching, he unsheathes his blade, Lorna. He searched where the sound came from and he knew Will was doing the same.
Will's eyes traveled around his surroundings and stopped when he found it. Judging by the sound of frogs in the damp environment he was in, he decided to make a soft croaking noise that resembles a frog. Jace froze when he recognized the rhythm Will was making and looked at him. Will's whole body was tense as he pointed at something.
Jace followed the finger's direction and moved toward the bush, using Lorna to prepare for any surprise attack. His grip slightly tighten when he saw the creature.
He barely saw it in the dark but he thanked the Eyota that it was a full moon tonight. The creature resembled a shiny black dog and had large fangs that poked out of its mouth. It was the size of a fully-grown loin. What was bizarre is the fact that its flesh looks seemly hardened and plastic-like. Jace observed that it didn't have any eyes. It was sniffing and huffing around which Jace assumed it had a good sense of smell.
It might sense us, Jace thought.
He mimed Will to cast a protection over them so that creature could not detect them. Jace lowered his hands to the ground and water burst out of his hands and began to intertwine with the invisible fire shield that Will created. It had taken Jace and Will a lot of practice to combine fire and water as one without causing it to steam.
The creature snuffles in the air again and then suddenly trudges on into the bushes further away from Jace and Will. It might be going somewhere important, Jace thought. Jace decided to follow the creature and Will mirrored his action. It went walking out in the open and across the lawn towards an enormous old abandoned shed in the middle of nowhere. Jace gets increasingly nervous when he sees strange creatures that have similar characteristics as the beast they are following, move out of the bushes to the shed. Looks like the humans were right after all. He hovered in the bush and signaled to Will they will wait until clear. Will gives a stern nod and knocks an arrow on his bow. Will's easy-going mood was gone and was replaced with a serious expression.
