Lily heard James get up and she had a brief panic that she had slept in, James was never up before her, and he definitely didn't get up before at least ten am on a Saturday. But when she checked the clock, it was barely six. Nervous to see what he was up to, she pulled on her fluffy robe and shoved her feet in some slippers and exited her room. She found him in the common room, surrounded by sacks of something.
"What are you doing?" He immediately shoved whatever he was holding into the sack in front of him.
"Lily! Don't you usually sleep in til eight on weekends?" He asked, flustered.
"Don't you usually sleep in til lunch?" She countered. He laughed, rather forcefully, and stood up taking her by the shoulders he turned her around so she was facing back towards the bedrooms. He trailed his hands down her arms and she shivered at the contact.
"Here's what you need to do." He said, placing his lips to her ear. "I need you to go back to bed." Lily swore his voice had gotten deeper. She never really thought about James' voice before, but it was usually quite light, and always filled with laughter. But right now, it was deep and rough, still laced with sleep. They way it skimmed across her body had her flushed and when his lips grazed her neck goosebumps broke out across her chest. "And I need to continue getting your beauty sleep. I'll send in the girls to wake you up and help you get ready and then I'll take you out on the best date of your entire life." Well, there was the arrogant, cocky James that Lily was used to.
"You think you can tell me what to do?" It came out a lot more breathy that Lily meant and she felt him smirk against her neck in response.
"Just this once, humour me." Lily was starting to get fed up with the light touching and teasing. If he didn't actually attach his lips to her neck soon she was going to explore. "Because we both know," He lowered his voice to barely a whisper, "I much prefer it when you tell me what to do." Captivated by his voice, she couldn't help but follow his instructions, as he gently tapped her on the ass and pushed her towards her bedroom.
Back in her room, she couldn't fall back asleep. How could she after that display. All she could think about was his lips ghosting along her neck and how all she wanted was more.
After a few hours of tossing and turning in bed, she finally decided to get up and be productive. Which is why she was sat at her desk doing homework when the girls walked in.
"You're supposed to be in bed." Myer said, entering with a tray of tea.
"I'm getting ahead on charms."
Jen rolled her eyes, "Well, your lovely boyfriend-"
"He's not my boyfriend." Lily interjected. Jen ignored her.
"Has sent us with tea and flowers." Lily watched as Alice arranged the flowers in a vase on her dresser and Myer poured them big steaming mugs of tea. "And we're to help you get ready for a little lunch time date."
"Where?"
"An undisclosed location. He'll pick you up from the common room." Jen shrugged.
"I don't like this."
"Just be calm Lily. He's putting a lot of effort into this. Just enjoy it." Myer said, passing her some tea.
"I just don't want him to think it means more than it is. It's just a date." Of course none of the girls believed that, James and Lily was a romance that was inevitable. Whether their relationship bloomed from this date, or one months down the road, everyone knew they would end up together, they were soulmates. It was written in the stars.
