Right into it
~~~
"Got him to speak, while studying his body language and the layout," I said as we drove off "address on the wall," why someone write it there is beyond me. I gave it to him, and he keyed it in. "Well we got a lot of work to do," he said as he drove to it. "Boxing gym," I smiled as I cleared my throat.
We arrived and god it look shady, I got out and took lead. "What was the name on the wall?" Seok asked "uhhh, black bear," I say "nickname great." I nodded as the door swung open, and we walked in.
Some dude approached us, "cops not allowed," damn harsh, I stared "public building, anyone is allowed," I stated my hands pressed firmly into the pockets of my pants. "Owners request," I stared more, deadpanned. "Did you hear me?" The guy said, "have you heard of the name Jin or Jin-ho," the guy's eyes widen.
"Yeah the Korean MMA champion every fight," he went on to be the fanboy, "your looking at him," I said and he laughed "you aren't him! Don't be fooling me," he said going back to being serious.
Seok groaned, "shut up silent guy," the buff man spoke. "Black bear where is he?" Seok broke the silence, "your speaking to him," that's when I laughed. "You?" He nodded "that's funny because you can't even recognize an MMA fighter," I say stepping to the ring. "Anyways not why we are here," I say, Seok with his notepad out.
"Doubt your Jin-Ho, anyways why the hell are you here?" He asked as I showed pictures of the wife and the husband, "do you know them?" I waited he stayed silent. "You ain't speaking?" I groaned this is bullshit, first day on the job and I can't get a single lead.
"Alright, get in the ring, if I win you spill. You lose, we leave," I said and Seok spoke up "are you stupid?!" I slowly started taking my jacket off.
*seok pov*
I watched as my new partner prepared to fight this guy. I stared shocked at the tattoos on his arm, they hire anybody. But he had to give off a good impression to Chan. "I don't box, so feel free to fight, however," Jin explained to Black Bear.
I don't like this, it isn't ethical, but if it gets the answers we need. I suppose I can allow it. A few onlookers began to fully notice "that's Jin!" Some recognize my partner, I never watched MMA. I suppose I can have a look into it, and see who I'm truly working for. Extra homework for me. Lovely.
The first punch was thrown by a black bear and it landed, but it seem to fuel Jin. Which then made him throw a much harder hit to the stomach when the black bear blocked the face. "Jin-Ho, you got this!" Another shouted, cheering on jin.
"What's he doing here?" Someone glanced at me "that's my partner, he a cop." They stared shocked but still cheered. My eyes widen when the black bear slammed him down, and my heart began to race. I don't know why I was growing increasingly anxious and concerned.
I don't know him like that, he keeps to himself. He only speaks when I speak first, it's a bore but he seems sociable. I watch jin grab the man's arm, grasp it in his legs and the sickening crack happened. "Damn," I mumbled under my breath. After Jin won, the black bear gave up why his address was at the brothers' house.
"All that to learn that they gamble, but has new clue to where she is but has seen the brother once, last week," I say to Jin as we walked to my car. "But he has seen the brother relatively recently, near a bank," I nodded and drove to the bank for the atm camera.
*Jin Pov*
I watched Seok, he gets this look when he thinks. His mouth moves a little when he thinks, I need to calm down. I don't know him that well. We got the video from the ATM, I saw the brother, my eyes focused on the vehicle more than on him. "Baby blue, license plate....." I mumbled "SJ-" I groaned and that's all we could see.
*later that afternoon*
We were back at the police department in our own offices. I was running down the background on the brothers. I contacted my military friends, for a greater chance of finding anything. That's why you don't burn bridges with anybody, I smiled.
I trotted out and knocked on Seok's door. "Come in," he said and I bowed when I entered, I smiled triumphantly. "Licenses plate is SJT135X, stolen, background on the husband," I started listing off, his eyes widen.
"Formerly Military, dishonorable discharged, multiple complaints but never any arrest," I stared at my notepad, "family home in Jeju island," he mumbled, "we will have to get a warrant," Seok said taking in the information, I nodded.
But I slipped it to him, "how?" He asked shocked "friends~" I adjusted my jacket as I stand up, "tomorrow we will go and get him," I say "please don't work too hard," I say as I grabbed my helmet. I walked to my bike, threw my leg over it, and straddled it.
I strapped my full-face helmet on, noticing Seok walk out with his briefcase and a look I can't exactly describe. My gloved hands gripped the handlebars as I started my bike, he looked over. I nodded and rode off to my apartment.
