The air breeze hit his face as the boat finally reached Jeju Island. He was burning hot from the bright sun above him and the black hoodie he had on didn't help at all.
Two of the staff were helping the passengers get off the boat and he was thankful because he was feeling dizzy because of the waves.
"Welcome to Jeju Island." The smiling old lady said as she walked by the boat. She received some smiles from the others but the young man didn't look up or greeted her. He has learned that too much kindness and smiles can give you the hardest pains. He won't commit the same mistake again.
He walked away from the seaport carrying his backpack on his back and his suitcase on his hand. He had to go to the closest bus stop but he was having a hard time to find it and he was getting nervous.Suddenly, he heard some chattering and found a close by convenience store that was next to a bus stop. His stomach was growling so hard so he had no other choice than to buy something to wait while he waits for the bus to arrive. The bus ride to the city he wants to go is quite long so he needs to have a full tummy to endure it.
He spotted some freshly made tuna gimbap and his mouth watered because he has been craving for that for so long... he wasn't to eat it because his fian-... "Don't think about him!" The man whispered to himself as he grabbed three big pieces of gimbap and a sprite bottle and went to pay for it.
As he sat on the bus stop bench and unwrapped his first piece of tuna gimbap, his tears started falling non-stop... It was too much sadness within him that he couldn't let out before. He always had a hard time coping with his emotions and always bottled them inside until he couldn't hold them anymore. His eyes were deep red because of the unending tears. When he was on his last piece of gimbap, he was no longer crying uncontrollably. Somehow, he had a taste of freedom for the first time in months and he didn't want to abdicate of it for anything. He gulped some of his sprite as he saw the bus arriving. He smiled because his mission was almost complete."A ticket to Taeheung-ri, please." The man said with his deep voice, a hoodie covering most of his face. He sat on the back seat of the bus and sighed. Only 4 hours left and he would arrive at his new home where he hopes his life will turn bright again. The bus only had four people in total so he relaxed and let sleep consume him until he arrived to his destination.
Four hours later....
"We have arrived at Taeheung-ri." The bus driver shook awake the sleeping man who was so deep in his sleep.
"Huh?" He was confused when he saw that man in front of him. He blinked his eyes a couple of times before he composed himself.
"We are in Taeheung-ri already. " The older man said and walked to the front of the bus.
"Oh... I'm sorry, I will be leaving now! Thank you for the ride." The man nervously said as he quickly got out of the bus and walked to the nearest bench so he could drink some water out of his bottle.
"Ok! Now I need to walk about 30 minutes by foot to arrive at my new home." The man talked to himself, mentally preparing himself to the long road he needs to walk. It was a road in between corn fields in both sides and then it was just forest. He choose this particular small city because it was next to the sea and also because it was unknown to the most.
He gripped the strap of his suitcase with his hand and slowly started walking on the side of the road. Unfortunately there was no bus that went ti that small city. Only about 100 people lived there, it was more of a vacation spot and a fishing city.It has only been 10 minutes and he was already dying from exhaustion... he's really down in shape, he needs to workout more! He had some pauses to drink from his water bottle and he was glad he had gimbap hours ago or else it would make it harder with an empty stomach.
