[start chapter one]

Christian skipped through songs on the aux, trying to find one that would actually be worth the listen.
"Will you just stop messing with it?" Curt asked, annoyed, not diverting his attention from the road.
"Right- Right." Christian responded, lowering his hand from the skip button. "Are we almost there yet though?" He asked, cranking the volume up.
"GPS says 5 minutes." Curt responds, looking at the rearview mirror to see Ivan, his head perked up from his phone.
"Thank god, the cellular is shit." He said, clicking off his phone and looking out the window. Surrounding the car, they could see a forest, the sun just barely peeking through the trees.
"Alright.. this should be it" Curt says, looking at the log cabin in front of the car. "Damn this is nice!"

"Den says that her and Chilly are still half an hour away. That was probably half an hour ago considering how shitty the wifi is." Ivan said rolling his eyes through his tinted glasses.
"Whatever, lets just go inside and check it out, we can try and get some signal later." Christian says enthusiastically, slamming the car door shut.

The three boys head towards the door, leaving their luggage still packed away in the car. The cabin is a decent size, with a large glass window and door leading out to a back porch. The three establish which room should be theirs after a debate between Ivan and Christian for the biggest bed. Eventually ending in Christian's victory. Curt had already finished unloading his things into one of the smaller bedrooms before they had even finished their spat.

Ivan grumbled and hauled his ass outside where he saw a car drive past. Pulling into the cabin next door. Chilly and Den stepped out and waved over to Ivan before unloading their things. Ivan went to do the same. As he stepped into the house he yelled "Chilly and Den are here!" But there was no response. The house fell eerily silent, giving Ivan goosebumps as he cautiously moved through the hallway. Approaching the entrance to his room, Christian jumped up out into the doorframe and yelled. "AAAAAAAAAHH"
"Fuck!" Oh my god!" Ivan yelled jumping backwards, dropping his suitcase's handle. "Holy shit, man."
Christian laughed at Ivan and walked into his much larger room, giving him the birdie as he went. Ivan scowled and brushed past him, grabbing his suitcase and bringing it into his room to unpack.

Not too long after the few had gathered back up in the living area, when the doorbell rang.
"It's probably Den and Chilly." Ivan said, as if they hadn't already known. Setting his beer down he went to the door to greet the girls.
"It took us wayy to long to get here," Chilly explained. "because SOMEONE can't read a map."
"Listen. It was confusing. I was trying my hardest." Den shot back, crossing her arms.
"Come inside, we're just hanging out in the living area." Ivan said, shutting the door behind them and walking them towards the group.
"Heyy! The gang's all here!" Curt smiles, loosening his grip on his beer to wave them to the living room.  "Now that we're all here, why don't we head to the beach?"
"Oh! Yes! About that! I would but uh.. me and Den haven't unpacked yet so we definitely can't go now." Chilly butted in almost immediately.
"Yeah that's true, we probably should unpack first.." Den agreed. "We can stop by later, the beach is more fun at night anyways."
"That is definitely not true but whatever, we can wait." Ivan frowned at the two.
"Is too true." Chilly argued back. "All the kids are gone."
"You're still there." Ivan said smirking.
"So are you! You're so short they might think you're one of them!" Chilly furrowed her brows, her voice's pitch raising with each word.
Den laughed, "Okay, well let's unpack quickly so neither of you get kicked out for being children."
"I'm taller than you, Den." Ivan said stoically.
"Whatever helps ya sleep at night." Den said sarcastically and left the cabin with Chilly alongside her.
