Zelda AU: A Zora's Whisper

Humble Beginnings

A tale of a hero who first walked upon the domain of the Zora's. Being well known to be the child who beat adults in swordsmanship a lone Zora rise to the challenge at the time. Holding a wooden sword at hand he pointed at the child. A knight who happened to be the father of the child took a step forward "we do not have time for games, we got a letter to hand over to Your k-"the father stopped as the child took a step forward with a smile. "I would be happy to accept your challenge!" the father had his hand on his eyes sighing "don't get lost you hear me! You won't get your mother's famous cooking if you do" the father told with a smile as the child nodded. "What is your name?" the child said as the Zora smiled widely "the name is Yuma! I'll ensure you keep a good memory of it too since I'll be the one to beat you in this duel!" Yuma boasts with confidence as the child smiled widely "alright if you think you can defeat me then I'm going to go all out! My name is link!" the child calls out as Yuma soon hands link a wooden sword and took a couple of steps back. The two tapped the flat blades against each other. The Zora children soon began to form around a circle letting the two have the room to battle. Sounds of wood smacking against one another as the two dueled to their heart's content, the Zora children roaring with excitement and chanting Yuma's name as they both inflicted their own blows on one another. The Zora unfortunately was pushed back sliding to his knees panting. Link was about to deliver the final blow but was soon surprised by Yuma's sudden movements as he sprung back into action blocking the final blow and even went for a jab to the gut, but link was too swift for the little Zora as he quickly swings the wooden sword to redirect the jab and quickly swings downward in a vertical direction pushing the Zora back away from link. Though instead of dropping to his knees he stayed up panting through exhaustion. The two clearly had bruises and abrasions even some blood trickling to their arms and abdomen. Link would soon smile and bow at Yuma as Yuma was taken by surprise "lets train hard for the next time we meet! You are truly a worthy opponent!" link would say in a cheering-like tone as Yuma's eyes widened and soon smiled showing his sharp teeth and nodded "I will! And the next time we meet I will defeat you!" he called out as the knight soon appeared. "Link my boy! It is time to bid farewell!" he called out as Link smiled widely "a-alright! I'm coming! Oh! Yuma here your sw- "Yuma would shortly cut him off "Keep it! It will be a reminder that you got a rival who's going to one day best you link!" Yuma would say cheering as link nodded giving him a stern but cheerful nod "then it's a promise!" from there Link departed from Zora's domain with his father as the children surrounded Yuma cheering him on and even complimenting him on his performance. Mipha would be staring at the link as her heart would skip a beat being one within the crowd who witnessed the whole thing it was like she was staring at a knight with shining armor.

The sun was not set as the little Zora would be seen staring at the sun hiding behind the mountain walls covering the beautiful view from sight. The Zora would look down quietly and sigh a bit "wish you were around to see me today dad..." the little Zora would whisper as footsteps can be heard behind him. Yuma would stand up and quickly turn only to be met by a Zora soldier. "I saw you dueling with a Hylian this afternoon. You seemed rather skilled with the sword. Have you trained?" the soldier would ask as Yuma shook his head no "n-no not really. I've only seen the soldiers trained in the training grounds so I kind of copied their routine for a while..." the soldier would soon then smiled with his hand moving to his own hip. "Well, why not train under me? I am a rather good swordsman among our tribe. The name's Ace!" Yuma would stare and his eyes soon glow brightly as the star fragments of a night sky. "r-really, you'll be my mentor!?! Yaaaaahooooo!" Yuma would jump with excitement as ace chuckled at him" alright alright settle down kiddo. You still haven't told me your name" ace would interrupt as Yuma smiled brightly "I'm Yuma!".
