"Take her with you Topper, just once, all she thinks about is getting into college, i want her to have fun this summer"
I hear mom arguing with Topper while coming upstairs.
"Fine, but i'm not gonna insist if she does not want to go"
"okay, just go ask her"
Topper knocks on my door twice
"come in" i say while getting off my phone
"hey... i uh... there's a keg on the boneyward and i'll be going with Sarah and the boys, wanna join? Sarah will be here in 20"
"sure, let me just get changed" i don't really like topper's friends but his girlfriend Sarah, is my best friend and to be honest i'm just going to see her. I get up and put on a baby blue sundress, as i was heading downstairs i see mom.
"that dress really suits you"
"thanks mom, i think blue is my color"
"i agree, it contrasts your brown eyes beautifully"
i wink at her and make my way to the kitchen where i find Topper.
"i'm ready" i say as i sit on one of the countertops
"Sarah will be here any minute now... isn't that dress a little too short?"
"i don't think so, is it?"
"i think it is"
"bummer, i'm not changing"
He sighs and rolls his eyes.
We hear a honk outside and head out to see Sarah, Rafe and Kelse.
"good evening to my favorite twins" Sarah happily says as she gets out the jeep and comes to Topper's embrace
"i missed you" he said while gently kissing her
"i missed you too" she replies "but i missed Kal a little more"
"what am i without my best friend?" i say as i hug her.
"nothing and same goes for me... come on i've heard the party just started"
We all get in the car, as i sit beside Sarah and Topper in the backseat, Rafe starts the jeep and we make our way.
"how about we throw a party to show these pogues how it's done?" Kelce exclaims
Rafe looks at him with a smile
"i'm down"
"me too" says Topper "mom is going to the mainland next week, maybe it can be at ours"
I hate every aspect of this idea. I've never been one to go on too many parties, and the ones i did go, i always got home early.
Time passes and we get to the boneyard where we could see a noticeable amount of people around a beer keg. My anxiety instantly turned on. Rafe notices and comes by.
"you okay?" he asks
"yeah, there's just a lot of people"
"it'll be okay, i got you, i'll stay by your side so no one bothers you" the dark blonde haired boy says as he puts his left arm around my shoulders
"thank you Rafe".
We get closer to the keg and Sarah sees a wrecked distance floater, as the ones they put far away from the beach in the water to sign danger. She runs for it and climbs it.
"Sarah get down from there, you can hurt yourself"
Topper exclaims trying to get her down.
"calm down it's not that high" Sarah says as she gets down
We calmly walk to where all the people are, Rafe and Kelce find some friends there. Rafe let go of my shoulders and i make my way to fill a cup with beer.
"i though kooks didn't come to a pogue party"
i hear a familiar voice say, i look back to see Kiara, one of my dearest friends
"Kie... i haven't seen you in months, how are you?
i say as i hug her
"i'm good, thanks for asking... you look stunning in that dress" she says surprised.
"thanks... i guess blue is really my color"
"definitely"
I sip on my beer as we talk for some time.
"come meet my friends" she says while pointing to 3 boys who clearly pretend not to be looking at us.
"i don't know kie, Topper wouldn't really like this"
"oh so you he can chose the things you can or can't do? come on"
Kiara grabbed my free hand and walked us to them. As i look back i see Rafe with a lifted eyebrow staring at us.
JJ's POV
"Dude why is Kie talking to Topper's sister?" Pope exclaimed surprised
"they're friends Pope, remember? Kiara was a kook for a year"
"oh yeah that makes sense"
"you idiots they're looking at us pretend you're not staring that hard" John B angrily told us.
I try to cover up by drinking what was on my cup.
"JJ try not to get that wasted please... we have to be incognito remember?" JB alarms me
"relax, it's my last one"
"i'll make sure of that"
"alert alert, they're coming our way" Pope says
And in fact they were, kie was guiding Topper's twin over to us. It's amazing how i almost never see her around, contrary to Topper who shows up a little bit too much. She is wearing a blue sundress that fits her nicely.
"Hey guys this is Kalea, you probably already know her but now lets make it oficial"
"Hi" she shyly says
"this in John B, Pope and JJ" kie points to each one of us
"pleasure to meet you" Pope breaks the silence
"the former trouble makers of outter banks" JB completes. I stay silent for a little bit. She looked a little uncomfortable.
