“Are you okay?”
Chanyeol looked at Baekhyun and nods his head. "I'm fine.."
"Are you sure?" Baekhyun asked for assurance.
After introducing Chanyeol, the younger greeted them all with his handsome smile and offer a friendly handshake. The Chairman keeps eyeing them since they arrived.
"Baekhyun, I didn't knew you already have a boyfriend, Myunnie, didn't even tell me," Joohyun playfully glared at her boyfriend who raised his hands as if surrendering. "So, how did you two meet?"
"Our meet up ain't that romantic, Joo, but.." he looked Chanyeol who looked back at him too, with a smile. "I fell in love with him the first time I lay my eyes on him."
"What kind of romantic movie is this? A rich man falling in love with a commoner?" Mr. Jung said making Chanyeol didn't like his tone. Baekhyun also didn't like what he heard and he's ready to retort something when Chanyeol spoke first.
"Why? Does feelings should be define by our status in life, Sir?" Chanyeol retorted making Mr. Jung glared at him. "I might not be someone who came from a rich family but I know how to use my manners well."
"How dare you—" Mr. Jung throw daggers towards Chanyeol.
"Dad," Jaehyun stopped his father and turned to Chanyeol to give him a apologetic looked.
Mr. Jung ignored his son. "People like you should know your place."
Chanyeol smiled. "I know where should I place my self, Sir, and it's beside Baekhyun."
Baekhyun felt so proud as he sees how the older Jung trying to compose his self not to burst out profanities.
"Stop it, Mr. Jung," Chairman Byun said. "Don't lambaste my Grandson's date."
Mr. Jung internally scoffed. "I'm sorry, Chairman."
Chairman Byun looked at Chanyeol who bowed his head to apologized.
"I'm sorry for my attitude Mr. Chairman, but I will not let anyone to looked down at me because of being out of your league," Chanyeol said. "I love Baekhyun, not because of his money but because he's someone who make feel loved."
Chairman Byun cleared his throat and nods. "Baekhyun, let's talk."
Baekhyun looked at Chanyeol who smiled at him, assuring him that he's fine. Baekhyun followed his grandfather along with Junmyeon. Joohyun accompanied him as Mr. Jung leaves the table leaving his son and his boyfriend.
"I apologize for Dad's attitude," Jaehyun said.
"It's okay," Chanyeol said. "It's not the first time."
"We actually don't mind about your status, we have commoner friends too," Taeyong said. "And we don't think that characteristics should be based on that."
