Chapter 22: Ultra Sound

I have an ultra sound appointment today at 10:30. I woke up early and showered. Charles agreed last night to drive me there because he wanted to see how far the babies are. He loved the kids like if they were already born. This was one of the things that I loved about Charles though. He loved the kids. I could tell he will be an awesome father. He was hoping for 3 boys and so was I. I couldn't imagine what would happen if he found out it was all girls or even one.

After my shower I find a note on top of my clothes saying,

Meeting. I'll be back in time for the ultrasound. I wouldn't miss seeing them for the world.

I sighed. He better, I thought. I cleaned what needed to be cleaned and I decided to lay down on the couch watching Star Crossed (a/n good show on Netflix but it kind a moves along too fast. Still good though). I was on the part where Emery was going to the carnival thing they do every year and I fell asleep.

I woke up to my cell ringing and I get up. I check the time and its 11:43. Shit. I run to get my phone and answer it.

"Hello?" I say out of breath.

"Eternity? Are you okay? You were due.....an hour ago!!" It was the doctor.

"I'm so sorry.I was sleeping. Are you still able to take me? Ill pull whatever strings I have to. Please?" He chuckled.

"Sure. I'll make it easier for you. There's a hospital walking distance from where you are. Yes its a human hospital but I'll be there in 5. Just tell them you're there to see me in sudden notice, okay?"

"Okay. Thank you!"I hung up and texted Charles:

Hey I fell asleep on the couch and you weren't here so Thompson rescheduled the appointment to right now if you wanna go.

I'm so whipped. Well I get one of Charles running hoddies since my jackets don't fit me and keys. I check my phone no response. I'm sure he'll respond soon. He fucking loves his kids. I look back to make sure all the lights are off and I have my bottle. Check. Now to the hospital.

He wasn't lying when he said that. The hospital was just behind the abortion center. I stopped by to see Betty real quick because I doubt Thompson is there. I walk up to the receptionist and asked for Betty. She asked that she hasn't been to work in a day or two but they gave me her address. Well, more like I took her address. I said my thank yous and continued on my way

MINI TIME SKIP

I was already in a room getting nervous. Why isn't Charles here? Maybe he doesn't want to be here. Shut up brain. You're not helping.

Dr. Thompson comes in and his smile falters.

"Where's Charles? Is he not coming?"

"No he's coming in just have to text him again. Or call him." With that he nodded and I texted him again. Charles the appointment is in the hospital near the house and I'm at it right now. I called him as well and it went to voicemail. I put my head down and Dr. Thompson came over to me.

"Are you okay? Is he coming?"I took a deep breath.

"He's not coming. So just do what you were going to do." I put a fake smile on my face. He hesitantly nodded and began. I began to lay down and he just looked at me.

"What?" I snapped.

"Nothing." He took the machine and did his thing. This was like 4th appointment and I'm still not used to the cold gel. He rubbed around until he found the babies.

"Do you wanna know the genders? I think it might be a little too early but these babies develop faster." I breathed in and nodded. He started to look around and found what he was looking for.

"That there is a boy. The other one is a boy and....."I sort of panicked

"And what?!"

"I can't tell the other one. Their brother is protecting them too much. I'd say its a girl."

"A girl? We can't have a girl and besides you haven't seen it yet so how can you tell?" He laughed.

"Calm down Eternity. Its just a guess." I nodded and cleaned up my belly. He began speaking again.

"Since you're still human, you'll lactate. I've never delivered vampire children nor do I know if they need it but I assume that they don't. So you'll be able to breastfeed but try it out when you give birth." I nodded and looked at my phone. It was 12:15 and I didn't get any messages from Charles. I sighed.

"Wanna grab a bite? I'm off duty in both human and vampire hospitals and I have nothing to do." I gave him a half smile and said sure.

"Can I go home to change though? I didnt know I was going to go somewhere and this isnt appropriate." I looked down at my old jeans and shoes. He nodded.

"Stay here. I have to change and then I'll come back for you." He said as he left. I laid down on the hospital bed. In a few months Ill have 3 babies to hold. In 4 months I believe. Wow. Time flies. The baby kicked again and this time it wasn't that hard. I put my hand over it. Urgh. Sometimes I do hope that they're out.

The Dr. Came back and took me home to change into a summer dress to go and eat. We went to his house and played with his puppy, Dawn. I want a puppy!!!

Charles POV

I left from my meeting but not before someone stopped me.

"King Jeff wishes to see you and the girl. At 7 pm sharp." I nodded and started to head home but I was stopped.

"He said he wants to meet you at some bar. The prostitute bar yah know?" I nodded. " I'm gunna have some drinks so come." I nodded and left with him. We had HOURS to kill before either of us had to do something. So we started drinking. And drinking. And drinking. Soon we were drunk.

"Heyyy, is it...is it okay for me to love a human?" I said. Everyone around me laughed.

"See, I was thinking the same thing." I said that and I took another shot. I passed out.

I woke up an hour later and it was 1 pm. What time was Eternity's doctor appointment? I can't remember. It will come back. I get up and go home. My phone has text messages and a missed phone call from Eternity. I'm gunna get it now. I went over to my car and drove home. She wasn't there. I called her and she didn't answer. What is she doing! I called her again and by the 4th call she picked up.

"Hello?" She said out of breath. Why the hell would she be out of breath?

"Where are you?! I called you 4 times." There was a pause

"I'm with Dr Thompson. Why?"

"Come home now! We have to be somewhere in a couple of hours and we are going to see Mary." She sighed.

"Alright. But the Thompson wants to speak to you." I heard him say that her purse was in the room where Dawn was sleeping.

"Look Charles, I got a call saying we're in alert. They are out there. 3 were spotted. Be careful."

"Will do." We hung up and Eternity was here in just a matter of minutes.
