Cora held onto Carson as she felt like he legs were about to give out.
"Carson! What is going on?"Robert asked worried by how Cora looked. "What's wrong?"
She had a hard time getting air in to answer. Robert caught her as she fainted. He looked at her face it was grey and he noticed she was wheezing. "Call an ambulance!" He exclaimed carrying her to the library. He sat her down, laying her body across his lap. "Cora," he said, caressing her cheek. "Can you hear me my darling?"
She stirred and opened her eyes. "Robert?" She asked, her voice sounding a bit rough. "What happened?" "Jane attacked you."
"What? Why would she do that?"
Robert frowned as he knew exactly why. "Cora, I thought she resigned."
"She did but she said she could stay to help out until the sick maids were feeling better. Why? What's wrong with that...?" She asked trailing off., Jane's words echoing in her mind. She sat up, looking at Robert, heart racing. "Oh my God! How could you?" She gasped.
It's a shame His Lordship's attentions were elsewhere while you were ill. I suppose one can't blame him when he's done everything to make this family great and he's ignored by the one who's supposed to love him unconditionally."
