Atlas was woken up to someone rapidly knocking on his window. He groaned and got up, blinking a few times to adjust his eyes to the light shining through his window.
Atlas opened the window. "What do you want?" He croaked.
"Dude, we have school today and we're gonna be late. Get out of your room and down the stairs right now." Rudy demanded.
"Okay, I'm going dad, thanks." Atlas said, yawning.
"Haha." Rudy said, rolling his eyes.
Atlas walked over to his bathroom, took a quick shower and brushed his teeth. He had completely forgotten about school.
"Atlas! Let's go!" Rudy screamed from outside of the bathroom door.
"Okay, okay. No need to yell. I'm going." Atlas said, his voice calm.
Atlas swung the door open and looked at Rudy who was sitting on the floor.
"Why are you-" Atlas stopped himself and sighed. "Never mind, let's go."
Rudy got up off the floor and stared out the window. Atlas looked at him and blinked hard, thinking that he was still tired and seeing things.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm leaving the same way I came in. If your parents knew I was in your house, they'd tell me to leave."
Atlas ignored his friend's antics and opened his bedroom door, walking down the stairs and out the front door. His parents weren't home. Atlas's mother had made it clear at the beginning of his high school years, all the way up until it ended, he would need to be responsible and get up on time to get to school. This morning, he wasn't, and to his mother, that was not her issue.
"Since you drove all the way over here to come get me up for school, wanna drive us?"
"Sure." Rudy said, holding in his excitement.
Atlas followed Rudy to his car. He hadn't been driving because his old car was giving him way too many issues, but he managed to convince his parents that he needed a car. With a little bit of time, and a lot of effort put in, he finally got a new one.
Atlas hopped into the passenger seat and Rudy started the car. The engine turned on with a loud roar.
Rudy turned to Atlas, grinning. "Do you like it?"
"Dude, the word like is no longer in my vocabulary! I love your car. Now start driving, or else we're gonna miss first period!"
"Yes sir!" Rudy exclaimed, putting the car in drive.

Rudy pushed the door to his classroom open, letting Atlas enter first, and then entering behind him. They tried to sneak around the teacher's desk, as he was always asleep, when something stopped them. Rudy tapped on Atlas's shoulder and pointed to a plant on the teacher's desk. The flowers were purple and hooded like, it's stem green. Atlas's eyes widened, he had seen that plant before in his mythical creatures textbook.
"Why does he have that? That's highly toxic and dangerous to everyone!" Atlas whispered.
"I don't know, but you get it out of here. I'll make sure everyone stays quiet about who did it."
Atlas walked over to the cabinets that sat in the classroom and tried to find gloves but couldn't. He set his backpack down and walked out of the classroom, heading for Mrs. Yilan's class. He knocked on the door and waited impatiently for someone to open it. When someone came, he rushed into her classroom and walked over to her.
