Saw some comments about this overtime. Over the years I had written a lot of fanfiction books [at this time, only my other complete one-shot book. I deleted the other books in the past] as I did [still do] enjoy writing. HOWEVER, I don't have the time/energy to post every week/bi-weekly like I used to. It takes 3-5 hours to write one-shots that are usually 4,000words+ and yes, between idea, layout, writing, and editing-it does take that long. I've checked before.
In my 20's and no longer have hours to write like I used to when my homework was done. I have REAL LIFE things that I have to deal. Writer burnout is big and it may take me a week or a month or so to find the creativity to write a one-shot. It just bugged me a bit that some people don't seem to realize that the content writers for fanfiction have lives outside of writing these, there are writers such as myself who are in their twenties and don't have the time a teen could have.
This isn't directed at anyone who asks, 'will there be an update soon?', 'Is there a one-shot being written?', or anything about an update. This is towards people that get annoyed/mad that a writer hasn't updated in a certain amount of time. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT SOMEONE IS GOING THROUGH. I WISH I had time to write like I used to and life was like it used to be, in regards to writing. I literally can't afford to write as much, can't write if you don't have internet and electricity, right? I'm not going into details too much with my personal life, but the last 3 years have been absolutely hell in my personal life with stuff that's happened/been out of my control. When you are going through and still going through xyz, it can greatly impact your personal life, let alone your ability to find the creativity to write when stuff is going well.
***those who just want a shorter version***
I don't have the time to write like I used to. I have to deal with real life stuff, writing takes a long time. So, there can be an update once a week or it could be a month or longer. Depends when I have the time/creativity. In my twenties, not like when I was a teen with a huge amount of free-time/practically no responsibilities. People seem to forget that writers are real people who can be going through things and don't always have the creativity/energy to put towards one-shots like they used to.
