Three weeks went by, Sanemi physically could not go see Tomioka. Not seeing him laying in the hospital bed, not after breaking his ribs.

Shinobu hadn't come out of her office for a while. She felt the need to be nearby in case something happened. None of them had gone to see him, some didn't care enough and the others were really nervous to be around him while he laid in that bed in that state.

Except one hashira. One other Hashira other than Shinobu had gone to see him. And that was Gyomei. Gyomei went to Giyuu's bed side and prayed that he would wake up and heal quickly.

A meeting was held. And upon Shinazugawa walking into the meeting area he can see the obvious depressing tension in the air.

He sighed and walked to his spot and sat in silence. He didn't want to speak of the topic. He closed his eyes and thought of the sound and feeling of Giyuu's ribs breaking due to him doing chest compressions.

He gaged a bit and put his hand over his mouth. "Shinazugawa? Are you alright?" Mitsuri asked. "I'm fine." He said as he dropped his hand.

She left it at that.

The Masters entered accompanied by his daughters, wife, and Shinobu. The Hashira's bowed.

"Today Shinobu will be explaining Tomioka's condition." The master explained. It was clear on his face that it would be a touchy subject. Shinobu who always had a smile on her face didn't even crack one. That is how they knew this was serious.

"Well, his left leg is broken and his right foot as well. He has some bone fractures. He was stabbed multiple times. He has experienced a mass amount of blood lost. He has a concussion. 8 broken ribs from Shinazugawa preforming chest compressions. And he was approximately dead for 5 minutes..." She explained. Everyone's eyes widened, expect those who knew. Being  The Master, Amane, his daughters, Shinobu and Shinazugawa.

"He died?!" Mitsuri yelled covering her mouth his shock. "Yes, but due to Shinazugawa preforming chest compressions he was able to come back to us. When I finally got him stable I induced a drug to put him in a coma." She explained with a pause.

"I plan to take him off the drug, it could wake him from a coma but there is a slight risk he may die in the process." She explained. The air became thick. The rest of the hashira froze.

"I will be inducing a drug to reverse the original drug effect this evening. So in case I recommend you visit him because I don't know what could happen." She explained. She then bowed ending her turn to speak.

"You are all dismissed. I hope you all visit Giyuu before today's evening. Just in case." The master said as he dismissed them.

Throughout the day a lot of demon slayers were in the butterfly mansion visiting Tomioka. A lot of them saw him as a respectable demon Slayer and comrade.

Sanemi kept standing outsid the room but he couldn't go in. He didn't know how to approach him. He was sitting down next to the door leaning against the wall. There was no one else in the room except Shinobu. The door opened and she walked out and crouched down next to Sanemi.

"I'll be inducing the drug soon. You should go in. I'll stay outside." Shinobu said. "It wasn't your fault his ribs broke, even if I did them they would break. You saved his life." Shinobu said knowing what Sanemi was feeling. He nodded and got up. He stood in front of the door for a second before opening it and walking in.

The door was shut behind him.

He slowly looked up, freezing a bit seeing Tomioka laying in the bed. He slowly walked forward and he was now standing next to the bed, he sat down in a chair.

He hesitated. "Oi, Tomioka...I don't know if you can hear me...but I'm sorry." That was all Sanemi could say. Was that he was sorry.

"I don't know what kind of life you've lived, what you went through. All I want you to know is that if you get taken off this drug and you don't ever wake up...all I want you to know is that I'm sorry for treating you like shit. I actually admire how strong you are. Maybe I was projecting when I was saying all that shit in the past. I am just sorry." He went silent. His his his face in his hands and just sat in silence. The door opened and Shinobu walked in with Kanzaburo in her hands. He looked up. "We have one more person that needs to see him." She said with a sad smile. She walked over to the bed and placed him down on it.

Kanzaburo hopped towards Giyuu's face and started to poke his cheek. Then it resorted to pulling on his cheek. He didn't understand why Giyuu was not waking up.

Eventually it calmed down and laid on Giyuu's chest which slowly rose and fell. Sanemi leaned forward on the bed watched the crow and Giyuu.

"Shinazugawa. I will be inducing the drug now." Shinobu said. "I'm gonna stay." Sanemi said firmly. Shinobu knew Sanemi wasn't going to change his mind.

She walked away and started to prep the drug. Then she walked over with a tray in her hands. She sat it down and grabbed Giyuu's arm. She tied off his arm so she could find a vein. She cleaned the area and then stuck the needle into his vein.

She paused for a second before turning her head as she pushed the back of the syringe down pushing the drug out into his bloodstream.

Then she pulled it out and placed it down and walked out of the room. Sanemi knew she would cry.

They knew each other for a long time. Sanemi knew that she really cared for him despite her constant teasing. He knew Giyuu was friends with her sister and that he helped her with her emotions when her sister passed away.

Sanemi knew she was crying.

He closed his eyes and laid his head down on the mattress while he waited. He reached his hand out and held Giyuu's hand. He didn't know why. Maybe he wanted to try and hold him there. So he wouldn't slip away to the after life.
