And everything went red. || Iida angst

Normal Day. [Aizawa's POV]

Author's note: This takes place before tensei's death [au] became public.

Today was a day just like any other, But something felt... off. I have no clue what's wrong, but it's very unsettling. My eyes scan the classroom looking for any anomalies. (something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.)

Everything seemed normal, but it felt so... off, the air felt thick with tension. I look once more, trying to find anything that's wrong with anyone. Midorya was trying to talk with Bakugou but Bakugou kept dismissing him by calling him names, kirishima, Kaminari, mina, sero and Jiro were all talking amongst each other.

Yaoyarozu was studying, Minoru was 'flirting' (if you could even call it that) with the girls around him that eventually moved away. Todoroki, Asui, and Ochako were talking, mostly Ochako, since the other two liked listening more than talking. Iida was sitting by himself dismissively dragging the eraser on his pencil up and down his desk, looking spaced out. speaking of Iida, he had missed three days of school, today was his first back, it doesn't seem like he was sick. I wonder why he stayed home. he doesn't seem like the type to skip... maybe that is what's off, Iida's first day back and he's not even trying to be the bearer of rules. whatever, he seems fine enough... I hope. I sigh. Damnit. I'll have to talk to him later.

"Alright class. settle down." I say and wait for everyone to stop talking, the last left talking is Midorya, he quickly realized no one else was talking and shut his mouth, I smile, well, I smile in my head, I don't show a smile though. "Today you will be training in partners." I say, no one has a problem with this, except for Bakugou and... Iida? hm, who would've thought. Bakugou and Iida, speaking at the same time say "I'd rather train by myself." I smile a bit "Well since you two are already agreeing with things, you two will be partners." Bakugou groans in disappointment "not four eyes" he says dragging out the O in four. Iida almost seems to glare for a second before his face settles. "what's so wrong with me?" Iida said in a demanding tone. Bakugou, caught off guard by this was left speechless only for a few seconds. "nothing. youre just annoying." Bakugou retaliated.

Iida sighed "Okay. Aizawa sensei, What is it we have to do?" Iida asked. I looked to Iida "everyone will be put into pairs. fighting against eachother." I said before continuing to partner everyone up.

After Everyone was partnered up

We all went to the training field. Bakugou was being as prideful as ever. Iida wasn't dealing with it like he normally would. he was just sitting on one of the benches, waiting to be put up against someone. He seemed to be just watching the clouds, not paying too much attention to anyone or, really anything. I'm pretty sure no one noticed except for me. but Midorya and Shoto did seem slightly worried about him, every time either of them went up to Iida, Iida just smiled and dismissed them with something, most likely saying he was alright.

Finally, Iida and Bakugou were put up against Kaminari and Kirishima. Iida seemed pretty out of it but he still seemed okay enough to fight. At least, that's what I had thought. While Bakugou and Kirishima were fighting, Iida was just more, keeping an eye on Kaminari than anything. Kaminari was either thinking of a plan or just didn't want to use his electricity on Iida. Iida heard Bakugou say something along the lines of "WHAT THE HELL SHITTY HAIR?!" Iida glanced over to see Bakugou on the ground Kirishima using his quirk. Bakugou was bloodied up a bit nothing too bad. Kaminari must've noticed Iida looking away and took it as an opportunity. Right as Iida was about to go over to Bakugou and help, Kaminari used his electricity. Iida was stunned, before eventually falling over, most likely passed out.

Iida and Bakugou had lost. Kirishima and Kaminari had won.

What a surprise. Something must be wrong, they both did something that was not normal for them. Bakugou would usually use more explosions and Iida would be smart enough to not look away from the enemy.

I hope they're alright.
