"It was just an accident. Yes, an accident. Nothing else, be brave, Manik Roy. She doesn't have any feelings for you neither you both are very close friends that she could read your eyes. She won't know anything. Nothing."

Manik encouraged himself and went to the classroom. But he couldn't go inside. His steps stuck at the door only.

Nandini had braided her hair. Her hair bangs were falling on her face. She was fixing them with one hand and with the other one she was pulling her stole which was stuck with the bench. But she was not able to manage it with one hand.

Manik didn't wait there anymore and ran down. He was trying to look for someone whom he could send to Nandini to help her. He noticed the boys were going towards the class, Harshad was there too. Suddenly he spotted Seher in between everyone, he ran to her.

"Thank Jesus! You're here, Seher." He was huffing when he stopped in front of her.

Seher was taken aback seeing Manik like that. "Is everything okay, Manik?"

"Nothing is okay. Go to the class fast and help Nandini."

"What happened to her again?"

"Please, go. I don't have time to explain everything to you."

"Okay, okay. Relax. I'm going."

Seher ran towards the class. She found Nandini was trying to walk holding the desks. She went to her and held her.

"What happened to you? Why are you walking like this?"

Nandini smiled brightly looking at her. "Nothing much, I had just fallen down."

"Again?" She scolded Nandini.

"But why're you huffing like this?"

"I met Manik. He said you need help. It's urgent. That's why I came running."

"He sent you?" Nandini asked. "He could send Seher but he himself didn't come." She said the last line in her mind.

"Yes, he sent me." Seher looked at her suspiciously. "What's going on between you two? One is asking me to help you and here the other one is complaining that he didn't come." She raised her eyebrows, looking at her friend.

Nandini looked at her with wide eyes, thinking how did she know what she was thinking. "When... When did I complain?" She shuddered with her words.

Nandini had already freed her stole but in that process a piece of the cloth had stuck with the desk.

Seher helped Nandini to sit at her place. By then everyone else had reached there too. Harshad came near Nandini.

"What's up, Nandini? You seem to be really busy these days."

Nandini got irritated. But she remained quiet.

"I need to say something important to you. Meet me after class."

That time Manik too came to the classroom and he heard Nandini's last words when she told that she would meet Harshad after class. Manik didn't look at Nandini, he crossed her and sat on the desk where Nandini's stole had stuck.
