Chapter 1: W-What Happened..?!

Tanjiro's POV

???: "Tanjiro! Come here! You got soot and dirt on your face."

My mother, Kie, said.

Kie: "You know you don't have to go down there. It's very Dangerous down there."

My Mom said with a worried tone.

Tanjiro: "Don't worry mom! I want everyone to eat good for this new year!"

I said with a proud tone. Then my my little sister, Hanako, came over to where I was.

Hanako: "Onii-Chan! can we come with you?"

I was hesitating what I was going to say, but then Mother stepped in and said,

Kie: "No, you are not coming with him. You can't run as fast as him."

Hanako said, "Awww. I really want to come with Onii-Chan!! Please let me come with you Onii-Chan!"

Tanjiro: "Sorry Hanako, you can't come with me, but I promise I will read to you when I come home!"

Her eyes Sparkled with joy.

Hanako: "Deal!

I smiled at Hanako and then I saw Takeo. I yelled Takeo's name and he came over to me. I asked him to chop the wood, since I have to sell coal today.

Takeo's POV
I heard Oni-Chan say my name, so I came over to him.

Tanjiro: "Takeo can you please chop the wood today? I'm going to sell coal today and I don't know how long I'll be."

Takeo: "Sure"

Takeo: "But I wanted chop down wood with him..."

I whispered. Of course he had to hear that. Tanjiro then Patted and stroke my hair and of course I got embarrassed and I told him to stop, but everyone laughed.

Tanjiro's POV
After I was done talking to them I told them Im heading out. They all waved and said bye. I was walking down the Mountain, Then I saw Nezuko.

Nezuko's POV
I see Onii-Chan!

Nezuko: Hello Onii-Chan!" Oni-Chan then said

Tanjiro: "Hello Nezuko"

Nezuko: "I got Rokuta to sleep, If I didn't he would of caused a fit!"
Oni-Chan just chuckled a bit.

Tanjiro: "I am going now, bye Nezuko!"

Nezuko: "Bye Onii-Chan!"

Tanjiro's POV
After I said, 'Goodbye' To everyone, I was heading down the mountain. When I finally got to the Village, I asked If anyone wants coal. A lot of people wanted coal, but some were red, and they smelled like they were in love, but I just brushed it off. When I finished selling the coal, I realized that it was night. I heard someone call my name. I saw Our Neighbor, Old Man Suburo. (Sorry if I spelled his name wrong!!)

Suburo: "Come in my house! It's dark!"

Tanjiro: "No thank you!"

Suburo: "Tanjiro, Come here, I will let you sleep and here! Or the demons will eat you!"

Old man Suburo kept telling me to come in and I kept refusing, but I finally gave up and I came inside. I heard his family got eaten by a demon, maybe I will bring my siblings to visit him since he seems lonely!

The next morning

Tanjiro's POV
I left Old man Suburo's House, and when I was going back home I smelled something terrible... it was BLOOD! I quickly ran up to see my family lying still and no life in the eyes. I checked each pulse and there was only one pulse left but it was slow! It was Nezuko's! I picked Nezuko up on my back, and I ran down the mountain to get her to a doctor. I kept mumbling,

Tanjiro: "Don't worry I will get you to a doctor, Oni-Chan will save you!

After a few minutes of running down, Nezuko started to move and growl. I soon fell off the hill because Nezuko kept moving around. Luckily the snow saved me. I was looking for Nezuko, and I found her. I kept telling her that she doesn't have to walk, I can carry her, but she ignored me. She then looked up at me and her teeth looked pointy (is that a word?) and she had veins all over her face.

Nezuko looked like she got angry at me and she then attacked me. I am shocked she attacked me because Nezuko and I never got into fights before. I took out my hatchet and defended myself while she was breaking the handle slowly. I started to cry and I tell her

Tanjiro: "Nezuko! This is not you! Be yourself! BE who you are!"

I feel warm drops on my cheek,I looked up and see Nezuko crying. I was surprised. I then got rope out of my pocket and I put around Nezuko's mouth, Just incase she tries to eat someone. After I calmed Nezuko down, I told her that I'm going to bury the bodies. After I finished burying them, I sent some prayers to them. I grabbed my father's sword and a book about about swordsmen and breathing styles, I grabbed some clothes and food for Nezuko and I. We then left the house to go somewhere.
