Finally, the day has come when things in Tokyo were finally settling down. After the final war, neither the ghouls won, nor the CCG won. It was love and humanity that won. After hundreds and thousands of sacrifices, finally a human and a ghoul can imagine the future together, hand-in-hand.

This morning was a little different for Kiyoko than the other days she spend in this hospital. Generally, she would wake up from some nurse's random gossip or Dr. Junpei's random words which Kiyoko never really listened to; but today she woke up to some familiar fragrance and something that is near to her heart.

When she woke up, she found her right hand occupied. She smiled, "Oh Juuzou...", the little soul fell asleep while he was softly grabbing her hand. She really wanted to caress his hairs but she couldn't due to her fracture. Then suddenly, a nurse walked in with a smile on her face.

"Good morning Kiyoko~", the nurse greeted her.

"Good morning... Umm... When did he came here?", Kiyoko curiously asked.

"Investigator Suzuya came here early in the morning, I told him that you were sleeping yet he wanted to see you, so I had to let him in. I'm sorry-"

"No no it's absolutely fine! I'm actually happy to see him... I'm really happy."

"You know, you didn't had to hide it from us. We aren't harmful."

Kiyoko furrowed her eyebrows, "What are you talking about?"

"You said that he is your close friend, but turns out that he is actually your boyfriend."

"And even if he is, so what? I didn't felt like sharing it with you guys and that's it."

"It wouldn't have hurt you to say it before... It would have been better. Anyways, you will be getting discharged today, as per Suzuya's request. Wake him up and I am going to bring back a few nurses so that they could help you get dressed...", the nurse then left the room.

~Flashback~

"Doctor, I'm seeing you lately that you are spending a lot time with that patient... What suddenly happened...?"

"Julie... That patient, Kiyoko, she reminds me of her... Miko... The way Kiyoko talks, the way she looks, everything is so much like Miko... As if it's just her but a little different..."

"Doctor, you know that very well that she isn't your Miko. Ms. Miko died a long ago... in front of you... and on the other hand, Kiyoko, she remembers everything. Her home, her age, her everything... so you can't really replace Miko with Kiyoko..."

The doctor sighed, "I'm really happy for Kiyoko that she's not badly injured but a part of me wishes to see her everyday... I wish I could take her home and protect her..."

Nurse Julie sighed, "I don't really get it, how do you even compare Miko with Kiyoko... Miko, she was so calm, quiet and obedient and on the other hand, Kiyoko, she's so daring, also rude sometimes and she would even raise her voice on you and she's so-"

"But Humans without any flaws are the most imperfect ones... So, please Julie... Stop comparing them... They are not objects that you will compare them... I simply fell for Kiyoko and that's it..."

"And what if... Kiyoko has someone already? Like boyfriend or maybe husband...?"

"Nah~ I can say with guarantee that Kiyoko isn't married, but yeah... She might have a boyfriend... But she never really spoke about him so..."

Nurse Julie sighed, "Now what can I say... You have already decided, haven't you that you want her? Well... But don't tell me later that I didn't warned you..."

"Oh come on~ Stop making things complicated."

"Junpei, you are my friend and I care for you. That's why I told you all these, now it's your choice."

"What's up with that nurse's tone...?", Kiyoko said with disappointment, she then looked at Juuzou, "Are you gonna wake up or not...? I wanna hug you so bad... Hey... Hey Kitty~ Kitty~ Come on~ Wake up baby~", after no response, she smiled, closed her eyes and proceeded to kiss on his head. In the meantime, Juuzou woke up, and lifted up his head and he got a 'mistaken kiss' on his lips. The feeling caused him goosebumps and he blushed. "Oh- Oops~ I actually tried to kiss on your hea-", she was interrupted as Juuzou tightly embraced her.

"I missed you so much... I thought I lost you... I thought I won't be able to see or touch you again... I tried to find you a lot..."

Kiyoko rubbed his back and calmed him down, "Your voice sounds like you were crying... But see, I'm here... Right in front of you... And yeah, I missed you too...", she kissed on his neck, "...I love you..."

At that moment, Juuzou was just as clueless as a little child. He didn't knew what to do next as he was overwhelmed. He looked at her face and scanned every little scars, "I am sorry I should have been more careful about you... I am really sorry...", he then planted many kisses all over her face, especially on her scares.

"Oh no baby... It's my fault... Really, in fact I'm sorry for being so bothersome... and I'm also sorry... Now, I have turned into a burden on you people..."

"No dumbass... You aren't a burden, understood?! Why are you like this idiot?? You know we were so worried about you!!"

She pouted, "I am sorry..."

He touched his forehead with hers, "It's time Kiyoko... I'm here to take you home... I'm not gonna leave you here all alone anymore... Everyone's waiting for you..."

"Yeah... Let's go home Juuzou... Take me home...", as their lips locked with each other, tears fell down their eyes.

Their sweet little reunion were watched by some others too, from behind the glass door.

"I warned you..."

Dr. Junpei looked away and tried his best to control his emotions, "It-it's ok... It's my fault that I didn't tried to know more about her and before that my feelings corrupted me... I am an idiot..."

Nurse Julie rubbed his shoulder, "Please control yourself... You still have to go there and talk with Investigator Suzuya and Kiyoko..."

"Yeah... You are right... You were always right... But, I didn't listened to you... I'm a moron..."

The nurse hugged the doctor, "It's ok... Kiyoko wasn't Miko after all... Kiyoko is already someone else's... But don't worry, I'm here for you and will always be... You were there for me when no one was there, so I will be here for you when you are alone... I promise to stand by you... I will never leave you alone, I promise."

"Thanks... I needed these words... I really needed it...", he then rubbed off his tears and put on a smile on his face, "Now let's go Julie! Let's keep doing what we are meant for! Emotions can't stop us from our duty!!"

"Yup! That's right. Let's go inside Junpei!!", they smiled at each other and went inside the room.
