(Hi little explanation before reading! To clarify the temporality I'm afraid you're maybe lost because of the scene changes lol. This chapter it's a parallel of what happened in the chapter "Problem" with Jake running downstairs, Heeseung discovering his power and Sunoo's disappearance. So this one "Jay" is before "Pain" in the time. I don't know if it's understandable sorry . It will be more clear while readin dont worry.)

TW cursing, battle/violence

Jake runs without looking back, he left Heeseung and Sunoo upstairs because according to this woman his friends would be in danger. He examines the room in order to find one of them. Did they get lost in a room of the house? In the crowd? Maybe they went outside? Or did they just go back to the back of the room near the bar. Jake chooses the option that seemed most obvious to him: the bar.
There was someone, he didn't know who yet, but he could see the silhouette of a person in the distance. He approached,
- It's too dark, I can't see who it is, it would be embarrassing to come running to finally come across a stranger. He thought to himself, scratching the back of his head.
He approaches slowly.

- Is that Jungwon? No, his hair is too light, Riki? The brunette started running to join his friend.
Once there, he was in front of Riki, he was asleep. He was leaning against a chair, his head buried in his arms. Jake crouched down next to him.
- Riki how are you? You are tired? He patted his head to wake him up.
- Mhh.. The little blond yawned before rubbing his eyes.
Jake grabbed his friend's chin so he turned his head in his direction. He gave him a big smile.
- I'm glad you're okay! Seeing you sitting on the ground in the distance scared me. confessed Jake.
- In reality, it's more complicated.. but yes, we'll say it's fine. Riki smiled back at Jake then straightened up to sit in the chair.
- Something happened? Where did Jungwon and Jay go?

- I think EJ is one of the intruders.

Laughter echoed throughout the room. A hand violently grabbed his t-shirt and pushed him. Jay was thrown a few steps forward.
- What do you want from me?
- You're not very smart to follow a stranger Jay.
A quick draft swept through the room. Jay had time to avoid his opponent's hand. But he replied quickly by sweeping his feet. Jay fell sharply to the ground.

- Ugh... *he's fast.. and it's too dark for me to dodge him. Okay Jay focus, you have a developing hearing I should be able to locate him..?* Jay was lost in thought to come up with a plan but EJ didn't have his time. He kicked the ground which Jay avoided by rolling on his right side.
- *I have to rely on the sounds of his movements in the air. He is fast but his every move makes noise. On the other hand he has an advantage, I think he can see in the dark... he couldn't be as fast otherwise*
- Are you the person she ordered us to find!?
- Do you understand that now? You are very insightful my dear. EJ sneered again, this situation amused him.
- I'm not here to have fun, let's get this over!
- Do you think you're up to me? You are miserable. Just a poor human who's been passed on vampire genes but you don't even know how to use your powers.
Jay cringed, he didn't like being put down like that for free.

- You'll see if I don't know how to use them. Jay walked straight ahead and kicked into the void. EJ wasn't there. He received a blow in the back.
- Loser. You're exhausting yourself for nothing, you don't even know where I am hahaha good I'm going to help you a little I'm going to open the door a bit so that the light can pass but don't take advantage of it and don't try to escape cause believe me you will not like the consequences. He had resumed with a firm tone.
The door opened. Jay ran.
- I don't want your help! I will win fair and alone!

Jay was about to press the door when suddenly.

- Can anyone hear me?

- Heeseung it's you?! Wait how is it possible I heard Heeseung's voice I must have been dreaming... Jay exclaimed out loud.
EJ laughed from the other corner of the room,
- I pity you, Jay. Come here ! He moved closer.
- JAY YOU HEARD ME!? It's my power I can use telepathy, you hear me? please say something again..

He jumped up and down happy at his friend's intervention that he totally forgot about EJ's presence.
- Wow.. so good! I thought I was dreaming ARF-
EJ had returned to attack.
- Jay?? Something happened? Heeseung asked.
The boy slammed Jay against the door, which close it. He bent down quickly to avoid a second blow, EJ's fist hitting the door leaving an impact on it. But he wasn't fast enough, his opponent kicked him on the back and Jay fell to the ground.
EJ crouches down with one knee pressed into Jay's back. He grabbed him by the collar of his sweater and lifted his head.
- You see what happens when you're weak Jay. He whispers in his ear. Jay couldn't move, the boy had supernatural strength. He grabbed him by the shoulder to straighten him up then grabbed his shoulders.
- *Fuck Jay you are really stupid. But I can't do anything. Ahh what is he*
- JAY ANSWER ME! He still heard Heeseung calling him but he couldn't answer him.

EJ grabbed him by the neck and pushed him against the door. He was now stuck with only the tips of his feet still touching the ground. It was really the end for Jay. Now? After being taken in so easily.
- *I'm really too stupid.. does Heeseung still hear me if I speak? *
- Heeseung come help me.. I'm locked up with one of them.. h-he's trying to... Jay doesn't finish his sentence. His air missing, he was shaking, tears streaming down his cheeks.
- uh I-I'm coming where are you?! Heeseung replied quickly. But it was too late.
- *I'm useless.. I've been useless and Heeseung will worry because of me*
- Yes useless, ridiculous, stupid- EJ had like reading his thoughts and continuing to be mean to him.

*BOOM*

A sound echoed through the whole room, someone had hit EJ his hand fallin from Jay's neck then he fell on the ground. Followed by Jay still in shock at the situation.
What had just happened, the room was quiet, you could just hear Jay fighting with himself. He was trying somehow to catch his breath.
- JAYY... a hand firmly grabbed his shoulder.
