The outskirts a dessert. The outskirts hold ruins that are more ancient than the creation of the tubbies. Other than a few dead trees and the satellite station there isn't much to the outskirts. Yet the dry and creepy quietness of what could have been a busy and noisy area wants to make you stay on your feet. Yes this would be the perfect place for the end of lives. The guardian and Dipsy made their way down the dry mountain and onto the cracking dirt ground. "Wow, that took a lot less than expected. Only 15 minutes". The guardian and dipsy took a look at each other knowing it was longer than that but ignoring it promptly after. "So guardian where next?" asked Po. The guardian took a look at the map and then looked at his 2 and pointed in that direction. "It's pretty much straight forward from here" said the guardian looking down from his map. Laa la tapped the guardians shoulder looking a bit scared "uh guardian this place creeps me out too much can you walk with me". The guardian was confused along with Tinky, "not that am opposed but wouldn't you rather walk with Tinky winky since you have-" the guardian was cut off by Laa la "no he said some mean things like leaving you behind while we went ahead". The guardian was surprised for a second before giving her a light smile before agreeing to walk with her. The group was split now with Tinky in the lead followed by Guardian and Laa next to each other while Po and Dipsy were paired. While walking Laa la struck up a conversation while talking in a low voice, "guardian why did you not get mad when you found out Tinky was going to leave you?". The guardian turned his head to talk to Laa la "well you see La, am sure he had a good reason to do so, maybe he didn't trust me, maybe he thought i was more trouble than am worth, or maybe he was thinking of your guys safety. To keep you guys safe he will sometimes do something you guys don't agree with." Laa la was surprised how mature the guardian was. "Wow you can really be forgiving and kind guardian" Laa la said while giving out a small giggle and hugging the guardian's arm. "Well i was made to guard you guys it only makes sense that i be able to forgive you guys from running heh". The guardian's ego boosted sentence just made Laa la smile. Dipsy and Po were talking about the guardians reaction about being left behind, "I can't believe he didn't get mad" Po said with irritation "I mean if I got left to be tubby food i'd be mad right dipsy?" Dipsy turned to Po with a deadpan face "why are you complaining?! I was the one left waiting for him in the snow!" Po dismissed Dipsy's sentence "I mean it's like Tinky thinks that the Guardian is some sort of shield!" Dipsy turned away from Po and looked at the guardian who had a concerned face on how long Laa la had hugged his arm. "Well he is our guardian right? The job of a guard is to protect, the job of a guardian is to die protecting something they were put in charge of. Am sure tinky has the same sense that he needs to protect us, even if it means tink's and the guardian's life has to go" Po stood there for a few seconds flabbergasted at how deep of a speech Dipsy gave considering he was the class clown of the friend group. After a walk in the dirt slabs of the outskirts they made it halfway across the outskirts and were close to the satellite station. "Uh La la not that i appreciate my first ever hand hug but can you let go? I think you're cutting my blood flow off" Laa la embarrassed quietly and quickly let go of his hands "sorry, guess i have been starved of a hug for a while now". The guardian just gave her a simple smile "no worries, along with meeting all of you i hope to be your friends and you hugging me means you see me as your friend" Laa la became as happy as she could be since this the mountains. "You see guardians out of the four am sheepish and seen as frail. Not only does Tinky feel like he has to protect me, the other two also feel the same. I know they had good intentions. It just hurts that I feel like I can't do anything because I am so frail". The guardian looked at the sky taking in the stars "if you ask me La you aren't weak." the guardian took a look at her "you are not afraid to admit you have weakness, and you care about people. As for you being sheepish, I see it as a good trait. Sometimes the best decision is to run away, some fail to run from danger and end up in a worse spot." The guardian kept a simple smile on his face making Laa la feel secure and confident. "Thanks guardian, now i don't feel even close to bad about my flawes" she gave the guardian a real hug while he started to struggle to breathe "your welcome La". as the group was walking they couldn't help but notice that something was watching them but it was just a feeling with nothing concrete. Shivers went down everyone's necks "everyone i think we should run to the station its almost daylight" Tinky said in a quiet whisper making sure only the 5 heard. Quickly letting go of the guardian, Tinky made a single and everyone ran making sure they were not being followed. After what seemed like 30 minutes they made it to the station. The station. Built for communication between the guardian and outskirt observation. A metal base filled with tubbies upsetting the quietness of the outskirts. The 5 stood there in front of the gates of the station. With 3 bangs a blue tubby opened the door with a name tag that had Ron filled in. "guardian? What are you doing here especially during the night and with the four tubbies noless?!" The guardian took a look at the name tag and looked back at Ron "hey Ron, i don't suppose you have a secure room these four can stay in for a few hours while i contact the military" Ron too tired to care let them in and set them up in a guest room. "Alright most of the others are sleeping so make it a text and not call please and thanks, going to bed use my card as you see fit." The guardian created a message informing about the custard being infected and the four possibly being targets and sent the message while going to the guest room to see how the four are feeling. When he opened the door he saw Dipsy doodling on a sketchpad, Po playing a game on a handheld console, Laa la sleeping by the door and Tinky winky pacing. "Hey guys, how's this room treating you?". Dipsy and Po were too invested in their own thing while Tinky took the guardian outside to have a well needed chat. "Look, I hope you forgive me for leaving you behind. I was trying to keep the others safe and well". The guardian sighed "look tinky i get it and i do the same thing if i was in your shoes. Am just surprised you gave me as much trust as you did from the beginning.". Tinky sighed in relief, "glad we could work this out friend". Tinky went back inside the room while the guardian stood there in the hallway. "Friend" the guardian's lit up like fireworks and jumped for joy silently punching the air. He had done it, he got their trust, saved their lives and now is no longer on a one sided friendship with them. He walked back into the room and decided to talk with the group for a bit waiting for the military to finish. "So Po, what's up with La sleeping?" Po took a look at Laa la and went back to playing her game "maybe she is tired from walking all the way here." The guardian was content with that answer and went back to conversing with Tinky. After a few minutes the guardian got lightheaded and got up to get a drink before passing out and hitting the ground hard. The guardian woke up in the white realm again. "Why am I here?" The guardian stood up calmly and without worry. Suddenly the white gooey tubby appeared once again. "You have done well with the warring I gave you previously.". "Who are you?" guardian questioned. "Now you must find the culprit and bring death upon them". The guardian suddenly woke up in the medical bay. "He's up!" yelled Po to others and in a matter of seconds the guardian was surrounded by his friends in a bed. "What happened?" the guardian started rubbing his head. "You fell down passing out and were rushed to the med bay by the staff" said thinky getting the guardian to sit on the bed. "Also the military is here so we can leave now. It's been a few hours since you knocked out." Po told him. "Guys, you go with the military and I'll stay here for a few more days.". The other 3 were surprised. "If you don't feel welcome we can always-" Dipsy got cut off by the guardian. "No it's not that, in fact I am grateful we're friends now, it's just a few things i need to do. Tying up loose ends if you will". Tinky winky understood what the guardian felt and accepted it. "Ok we'll meet up in a few days, i guess it's a good thing Laa la stayed sleeping huh. She would have refused to leave you behind after so much trust she gave you". The guardian chuckled and could see how that would unfold. After a few minutes of informing the military the four with Laa la still sleeping left to go to a secure place while the guardian started his journey back to the mainland to tie up loose ends. "I'll see you guys soon" the guardian said as the helicopter flew away. Packing up, made way and ran across the outskirts towards the mountains.
