"Hurry Up!"

Nancy yelled from across the room
Nancy Wheeler was Mike's older sister. Mike didn't really like to admit that he appreciated her even though he did. She was there more than their actual mother sometimes.

"I'm trying to be as quick as possible!" Mike yelled back. Today Mike was going California to visit his girlfriend Jane.

He was excited, but not as excited as he was to see... Their new house! Or so he thought that was what he was excited to see.

As Mike ran into Nancy's car, he got a call from Lucas and Dustin.

"Hello?-"
Dustin immediately cut him off.
"Are you excited to see your girlfriend?"

Mike heard the stupid smirk in Dustin's voice. "Uh" Mike hesitated to answer. "Yeah? I am."
How come Mike's stomach wasn't doing flips and spins the way It was the day he reunited with Jane two years ago?

"You don't sound excited hah. Are you excited to see anyone?" Lucas asked. Mike knew Lucas was hinting at something by the tone in his voice but he didn't know what. Or did he?

"Yeah I am. I'm just tired." Mike responded
"When are you not? You barley ever hang out with your friends anymore." Dustin said.

Mike started to feel bad and needed to get out of that call immediately. He felt bad because he knew Dustin was right. Mike would stay home a lot, skip meals, and fall asleep in public places more and more frequently.

Nancy would notice sometimes which made Mike lie to his family more.

And there Jane was, with the biggest smile one her face. The only thing is, it didn't matter how big her smile was. It didn't matter how pretty she looked.

The only thing that Mike thought of was how he didn't share the same excitement as her. Over all of the loud chattering, the sound of coffee machines and suitcases rolling on the stained blue tile floors. There was only one thing that made Mike excited. Will's smile. It was sweet. Mike hadn't been this excited since- he can't remember that's how long it's been.

As Jane jumped in to Mike's arms, he almost dropped her causing her to gasp.

"Haha sorry! Just a bit tired after that long flight!" Mike made up an excuse quickly.

"Oh it's fine! I missed you so much! It's been so long." Jane said excitedly.

Mike nodded then made his way to hug will.
It was a quick hug and yet Mike's mind was wandering everywhere.

Will. His hair smelled like vanilla. His eyes looked straight into Mike's. His lips looked so- wait pause!

Why was he thinking these things! He's dating the most kind, gorgeous, awesome girl ever. And yet he felt his stomach turning after that hug. Because of the feeling of wills arms around his waist even if it was only for 2 seconds.

"Hey will!" The words came out of his mouth quicker than he could say "I love you" not like he said it that much anyways.

"Hey Mike. You look great." Will said. His words sounded less sweet than his smile. Something was different

Was will not excited to see him? Nah that's not it. It was probably just because his voice changed! It's been forever since they've seen each other.

"Oh thanks! Uh hello Joyce!" Mike then made his way to Joyce. Mike was more comfortable opening up to Joyce or Nancy than his own mom.

"Oh hi Mike! Gosh you've gotten so tall! You're taller than me!" Joyce hugged Mike tightly. It made Mike smile a warm smile.

"Haha yeah it has been a while!" Mike chuckled.
