a/n: little background of what's happening since this was rushed. basic backstory: you got lost while literally just trying to see the scenery and then floated in the ocean surviving off of nutrigrain bars or whatever and like 5 water bottles and then you got to an island avdol is at uhuhu. spoiler free for the most part (i think).
The waves crashed against the sand, a never-ending sound of water crashing together. The sun was beaming along the horizon, the final bit of light soon fading. With red cheeks and tired eyes, you slowly drifted the seas with your little raft with wrappers strewn along wherever in the boat, half empty water bottles and a bag full of little weapons and 2 bars left of whatever food you had. You had seen the tiniest little island in the distance, where you could probably regain your stamina and liveliness, or at least enough to make it back across the fucking ocean and back to your own home.
With nimble fingers, you tied their little boat to a tree, grabbing a knife and your bag that you slung over your shoulder, and ventured through the greenery. Surviving off of the hot water in your bag and the two little snack bars you had, you turned your head abruptly when a crunch from a twig came from behind you. You stood, and in your defense, raised your knife. A strong, iron grip on the handle that had your knuckles turning white. With two raised hands, an odd looking man emerged from the greenery with a little, concerned look. You stared at him, your hands lowering just the slightest before going back on the defense.
"Hey, 'm not here to hurt you." He spoke smoothly, as he circled you like a hunter with it's prey. You took a step back, crunching a twig below your dirtied shoes as he sighed. "Look, I have a little house back that way. I can take you there, I promise I won't hurt you." He tried to convince, and with the way he sounded, and the way the corners of his eyes crinkled as he gave you a lighthearted smile at your guard slowly being shattered (although, rather easily, might you add). You kept your knife in your hand, before nodding. He seemed to let out a sigh of relief, before motioning for you to follow him with a wave of his hand and a turn of his back. You were a complete stranger with a weapon, and he turned his back to you. How much did this guy trust you?
He lead you through the leaves, the red of his overcoat being the most colour you had seen on another person in a while, considering how long you had been drifting. With a grunt, he tripped over a long branch that had grown along the little trail. You made careful work not to make the same mistake, taking in his hair from the back. It was tied in bantu knots, with a long ponytail in the back. A deep dark colour that you absolutely adored, and you almost just wanted to reach out and-
You bumped into his back, and he chuckled at the little mistake. You shook your head bashfully, "sorry." You muttered. It was the first word he had heard you speak, and your voice, Gods, your voice. It sounded like heaven to him despite the obvious raspy tone, despite the way your lips were dry from keeping quiet for so long. He hummed, before shrugging and walking. Chickens walked around in a little pen, and the mystery man took a minute to feed and give them the water they needed to live. He waved you inside the blue coloured house, and inside was immaculate. It was tall enough for someone of his height to fit, with a kitchen and living room, and despite the small size, it was comfortable. You could stay there forever.
"Make yourself comfortable. I'm Avdol, or just.. Call me whatever you'd like. Would you like a fresh set of clothes, and your current ones cleaned?" He offered kindly, and you couldn't help but smile with a little nod. "Yes, please. Do you mind at all?" He shook his head, before smiling and excusing himself to his own bedroom. He brought you back a pair of shorts and a white, too-big-for-you t-shirt. You smiled, before he instructed you where the restroom was so you could rid yourself of your current clothes and change into his. You nodded, before excusing yourself as well and finding way to his bathroom. You shut the door and locked it, stripping yourself of your own clothes and putting on the ones he so kindly gave you. You could get used to this, you thought.
