Bella and Tom stood in front of the small clusters of graves, heads bowed, setting their respective bouquets down. Even with having each other, the voids they were left with still reared their ugly heads in times like this, as they stood there, someone walked up behind them.

"I'm sorry you guys had to be victims of our bullshit..." It was Maddison, glowing a tad more than usual. She sadly hugged them both, and they reciprocated. It wasn't her fault that everything happened, not even close. They knew that.

"It will be alright, life goes on and the earth continues spinning." Tom stated, tears still in his voice, but with a flavor of acceptance.

"Besides, it's how we have each other. We'll continue on. All we have to say is thank you, thank you for sparing us one person." Bella looked over at the swing bench attached to a tree in the small graveyard.

Evergreen gently swayed back and forth, looking up at the sky silently. She bathed in the sun, enjoying the rays. The weather had cooled and the leaves had started to change colors, the sunshine now a welcomed friend rather than a tormentor. As she watched the clouds, she felt a sense of peace.

"Alright Evergreen, it's time to head home." Maddison held her hand out to her and Evergreen smiled. She took the other woman's hand as if they were lifelong friends, Maddison smiling and hooking arms with her as they walked into the woods, leaving Bella and Tom at the graves.

The couple smiled as they watched their silhouettes disappear, and hand in hand, they turned to leave the unsettling atmosphere they started to catch from the graveyard.

When everyone was gone, the crack of a branch breaking resounded through the woods and a body fell from the tree it was impaled on, a page landing in the puddle of blood it created.

"Summoners always die in the end."
