It's 9:20 am. George has hit snooze 4 times already, and is finally deciding to get up. He gets dressed, and goes into the kitchen. There, his moms been waiting for him to finally get up.
"Well good morning! Weren't you supposed to set your alarm to 9 am?" His mom asks.
"Mhm.." He says, still sleepy.
"I made breakfast. I'll see you tonight then." His mom says getting up, messing up his hair a little more before leaving.
"Thanks, See you." George murmurs, before digging into his food.

It's 10 am. George has been looking through his phone for the past 30 minutes, feeling like he's forgetting something.
"Shit!" He audibly exclaims, running to his room to get ready.
"I seriously can't be late today, ugh." He grabs his bag, locking the house door and running down the street. He gets to the Town center just in time, he's gotten the duty of helping his dad around, since he does nothing around the house anyways.
"I'm not late, am I?" He says, gasping for air.
"I expected you to be anyways, but you're good." His dad says, giving him a slight chuckle and a smile.
"What am I gonna be doing?" He asks.
"My friend needs some help around the bakery. Can you manage?"
"I guess, wasn't expecting anything light anyways." He says, dropping his stuff off at his dads desk and heading to the bakery.
"Hi sir. My dads instructed me to help around a little, anything I can do for you?"
The man turns around, "Sure! You good at decorating?" He asks.
"Yeah, what do I need to do?" He says, walking into the kitchen behind the counter.
"Just decorate these into something with flowers or stars, whatever comes to mind!" He says, handing George a tray of cookies and some colored glaze.
"Uh sir.. I'm colorblind. Which colors are which? I can't quite tell" He says, smiling awkwardly.
"Oh, I had no idea! Sorry, the first ones red, second is light blue and last ones light pink." He says, pointing them out to George.
"Thank you, I'll do my best."

An hour or so passes, George is almost done with all the cookies, they seem to look fine. He's not the best artist.
"Wow, they look great! Your father was right to send you to me." The bakery man says, patting him on the shoulder.
"Thank you. Are the cookies all the help you'll need?"
"Yeah, everything else is almost done." He says. "Though I'm sure your dad can find someone else to help out."
"Yeah... That's the last one." George says, placing the glaze down.
"I'm sure the people will love your design. Come to think of it you--"
The bakery man is cut off by the stores bell ringing. A customer walks in.
"Hi sir, how's it going?"
"Clay! Always nice to see you around. We're doing amazing." The man says.
"What do you mean "We're"? Did you hire someone new?" The boy, 'Clay', asked.
"Not really, his dad sent him to help around." The man says, signaling me to come out and say hello.I walk out, and smile at the boy, and slightly wave.
"Hi! I've never seen you around.. You new?"
"No, just an introvert." George says, slightly chuckling at his own joke.
The boy also laughs, "I see. Well it's Nice to meet you." He says, smiling at him.
"Do you need help Clay? I'm done with everything at the moment." The bakery man asks.
"Don't stress yourself! I can manage." He says, "Though do you have anything I could buy to eat? While I'm still on break."
"You could try the cookies I've baked for today! And make sure to rate George's design, It's great!" The bakery man says,
"George, could you get the tray please?"
"Yes sir, one second."

George's POV~

I kept staring at the boy, and I'm sure he's noticed.. I guess I do that with new people.
I get the tray of cookies, and bring them out to the counter, grabbing one to hand to the boy. Something about being right in front of him made me feel weird.
"Thanks." He says, staring right into my eyes like he could read my mind.
"Yeah." I say, rubbing sweat off my hands. He takes his eyes off of me, and tries the cookie.
"It's as good as every year!" He exclaims, "And the new design's pretty cute."
"That's great to hear! Well then George you're free to go, I'll see you at the festival tonight?"
"I guess. Bye then." I say, getting myself out of there as fast as possible.
Before I left, I caught another glimpse of the boy. I get myself together and head back to my dad.
"I'm back." I say to him.
"That's great, I have one more person you can go help out."
Dad says.
This is gonna take forever...

Clay's POV~

"Well then I'll get going, nice seeing you Sir."
"You too Clay, See you at the festival!" He says, smiling at me.
I leave the bakery, and head back to work. I get to the flower shop, and water some plants before I leave to decorate. The silence is broken by the bell ringing.
"Hello! How can I help you today?" I say, my back turned to the counter, looking for the last few flowers I needed.
"Hey.. Again." The voice is from the boy I've just met.
"Oh hey! Your dad told you to help me around too huh?" I say to him.
"Yup. Do you need much help?"
"Not that much, though it might be hard for you."
"It can't be that bad." He shrugs.
"Okay then, were gonna be decorating the town center. I've already done a bit, we only have about 2 hours of work."
"2 Hours?!" He exclaims.
I laugh at him.
"No silly. Only about half an hour or so."
"Now that you've lied to me I'm not helping you. " He says sarcastically.
"Cmon. If you won't be a baby we can get it done fast." I say, leaning into his face teasingly.
"Yeah yeah." He pushes my face away and starts walking out, I follow right behind.

About 45 minutes later, we're almost done.
"Only the fountain left, I told you we'd be fast." I say.
"Yeah, let's just get done so I can get home to my beautiful, soft bed." He says, grabbing the last patch of flowers.
"You're too short to reach that."
"I am not." He says, "You don't even know how tall I am!"
"You look 5 feet at best."
"I'm 5'8, how dareth you insult me like that!" He says, giggling. "
Uh-huh. Still not tall enough." I say to him.
I come up with an idea I though would be funny. I lift him up on my shoulders, as he screams like a banshee.
"GET ME DOWN!! IF YOU DROP ME I SWEAR TO GOD CLAY!"
"Put the last flowers on the top idiot!" I yell back.
"STOP SHAKING ME THEN!" He put the last few flowers on the top, hitting me on the top of the head afterwards. I took my joke a little far and dropped him into the water.
"WHAT THE HELL!! IM WET NOW!"
"You're wet?" I ask, wheezing in between.
"SHUT UP!" He says, knocking me into the water with him. "Now we're equal."
His dad comes up to ask, asking if we're okay in between laughs.
"We're fine, if this idiot of a friend of yours wouldn't have dropped me in water!"
"It was pretty funny though." I say, hoping for his dad to not get mad.
"I agree." He says, "You're done for the day, right Clay?"
"I am, just gotta close the shop until tonight." I reply.
"Okay then, we'll see you tonight!" He says, leaving us two alone again.
"Okay! Bye sir." I say, looking back at George.
 "What now?"
"I go home and sleep." He says, messing his hair up.
"Awh. Alright then, see you around?" I say, smiling at him. I've had so much fun working with him today. He's so nice.

George's POV~

His smile is so nice. It feels sincere and sweet.
"I guess.. Yeah.." I was too scared to ask for his number.
"Wanna maybe exchange numbers?" He asks me, like he knows I was gonna ask.
"Yes! Mine's xxxxxxxx. I'll text you when I get home!"
"What happened to sleeping? You that excited to talk to me?" He says, teasingly.
"You know what I meant." I say.
"Yeah, I'm just teasing. I'll see you later." He says, waving and putting his phone into his pocket.
That went good. Kinda glad I came in the end.
