So, this is what it feels like to be alive.

I was going for something more...

Charlotte: Hey you.

Doctor: He hasn't spoken since.

Charlotte: But we've heard him talk.

Doctor: Not consciously.

Nurse: It takes time.

Charlotte: Alright, let's get him up and going. I'll sign whatever papers another day.

Doctor: I don't think you'll need to sign anything for now, seeing that both his parents are dead, and only a few people knows he exists.

They tried to lift me off the bed, but my feet were failing.

Doctor: He can't walk.

Nurse: Get me a wheelchair, stat.

Doctor: Are you sure you don't want him to spend a few days...

Charlotte: No, he's already spent 9 years in this place, he can't spend another, I'm taking him home.

She helped me outside, into the driveway.

She then helped me out of the wheelchair and into the car.

(Putting the wheelchair in the trunk)

Piper got in the front and charlotte started driving.

Charlotte:(sobs lightly) Honey, isn't this great.

Piper: I know right
(she said without emotion)

We finally reached home and she put me back in the wheelchair.

She pushed me up the stairs and into the house.

Charlotte: This is your new home, buddy.

Charlotte: So, Piper, you don't mind sharing rooms do you ?

Piper: Not at all.

They vigilantly escorted me up the stairs in my wheelchair up to her room.

My question is, why does this girl have 2 beds in her room.

Charlotte helped me onto the bed 2 meters away from Piper's.

Charlotte: Soo, make him feel comfortable. He's part of the family now, honey.

Piper: Yeah, absolutely.

3:00 AM

I was staring into the ceiling, not being able to go to sleep. I think she was onto me. I didn't see her turn but i could feel that she wasn't sleeping.

7:00 AM

Charlotte helped me out of bed and downstairs.

Charlotte: Time for breakfast.

She was testing to see if i could eat by myself.

She put the mac & cheese and tea in front of me and i didn't even look at it.

Charlotte: Oh well, guess I'll have to feed you then.

Piper: Mom, i don't think you understand how much work this is.

Charlotte: I understand, but it's worth every bit. Besides, I'll have to hire a babysitter, because I'm going to work.

Piper: I got it.

Charlotte: This is not a baby Piper, this is a 14 year old.

Piper: That's why i got it.

Charlotte: No you don't. What about bathing, potty training, and when you have to go to school, I'll have to hire a babysitter eventually.
