"Any minute now... Yee-haw! It's officially Apple Bucking Day! Look at all those apples! Ripe and juicy, perfect for pickin'!" Holly Darlin' cheered.
Holly Darlin' is ready to pick apples for the harvest season but things went bad when all of the Country fairies noticed that something was bad.
"What the heck is goin' on? They're back!" Holly Darlin' screamed.
"Attention! This is a Country Corral code red! I need all the wings – and claws – on deck!" Holly Darlin' cried.
"Calm down, Holly." Poppy said.
Rose arrived in her carriage and saw the commotion.
"What is going on?" she asked them.
"Calm down?! How can I calm down at a time like this?! Vampire fruit bats are attackin' Country Corral's Farm!" Holly Darlin' said.
"Yup, thought so, those things always come out during this time of the season." Abby said.
"But I thought the fruit bats usually stayed put in the west orchard." Jessica said.
"The fruit bats do, but according to Quest of Yore, these aren't just your everyday ordinary fruit bats. They're vampire fruit bats! They are well known to come out during Fall also known as Autumn." Abby read in her Quest of Yore book.
"Plus, vampire fruit bats are labeled as endangered, they need to be placed in the wildlife center where they need to be safe from the white nose syndrome!" Rose added.
"I'll be darned if they think they're gonna sink their fangs into my blue ribbon apple." Gust Tumbleweed sighed.
"Awesome!" Keagan said.
"This here's our entry into the Lonesome Flats State Fair's produce competition. You know how much TLC goes into getting an apple to grow like this?" Gust Tumbleweed said.
"Gust! When you go big, you really go big!" Anna said.
"Them vampire bats want to shrivel it up like a raisin!" Gust Tumbleweed' exclaimed.
"Oh, I'm sure if we just let them know how special that particular apple is to you, they'll leave it alone." Rebecca suggested.
"Yeah, right. Be my guest. They are well known to be feisty." Abby scoffed.
Rebecca went up to the vampire fruit bat to try and talk to it.
"Um, excuse me, Mr. Vampire Bat—" Rebecca said.
The vampire fruit bat stopped and looked at her.
"We were just wondering if maybe you wouldn't mind leaving that really big apple alone?" Rebecca asked.
The vampire fruit bat hissed at her instead.
"Well? What'd he say?" Abby asked sarcastically.
"Um... yes." Rebecca stammered.
"Huh?!" Holly Darlin' gasped.
"But... it could've been a no." Rebecca stammered.
"Oh." Holly Darlin' sighed.
"This is the first vampire fruit bat I've ever met and, well, it might take some time for me to really understand their language." Rebecca said.
"Uh-huh. And in the meantime, this pest and his friends are gonna go after Gust's prized apple and, while they're at it, every other apple in the orchard! These vampire bats are nothing but a bunch of monsters!" Abby said in her warrior princess accent.
"Monsters?! Oh, that's a bit harsh, don't you think?" Rebecca said in shock.
"I would have to agree with Rebecca. All animals should be friendly." Biggie nodded.
