"You want to be...friends?", the spirit asked, earning a small frown from Zak.
"As sad as it is, yes. I just moved and I don't have many friends. Well, none at all, actually..."
The ghost grimanced at the words of his new...friend?
Yeah. Friend.

"I've never had much friends either. Well, except for Puffy", the boy's spirit stated, Zak making a confused face.

"Puffy?"

"Yes, Puffy. You know her as Caroline, though. Before the Lord and Lady adopted us, while we were in the orphanage, we would give each other nicknames. And that's because, well...we didn't know our real names, so we just made them up, I guess..."

Zak hummed, imagining what life in an orphanage would be like. He didn't really like the idea of it very much. Alright. He didn't like it at all.

"What was your nickname?"

"Most called me BadBoyHalo. Bad for short."

"Can I call you that?"

Bad thought for a moment before nodding. Zak smiled at the glowing ghost and Bad smiled back.

"So, should we get to work?", Zak suggested, Bad approving of it. He really wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.
"Okay, first of all", the alive boy started "I need to know how many years you have been stuck on Earth."

Bad looked at him with an unimpressed face. Zak nervously smiled.

"Well, I don't need to know, but I want to know", he quickly added.

"I've been here for 54 years."

He said it like it was nothing, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. Zak's jaw dropped. He knew this was uncultured, but in this very moment, he didn't really care.
The ghost looked at him, kind of offended. Zak realized this and closed his mouth.

"So, you died in 1961?"

"Yes."

"Wow", Zak couldn't find any other words to say right now. This boy-ghost in front of him has been searching. He has been searching for 54 years. Yet, he didn't find anything. Nothing. He found nothing. Nothing that would help him, at least.

"I will help you", Zak said.
"I swear on my life that I will help you."

Bad's eyes widened at the words of the boy in front of him. Was he really meaning to go this far for...a friend? But one thing was certain. Zak was dead serious. He really wanted to help the ghost.

"If you really wish to", Bad sighed "then so be it."
The two boys smiled at each other, their eyes sparkling with happiness.

Bad was gonna get out of here, and Zak finally had a friend.
