"Rise and shine!" an annoying sound of clanging utensils and steel pans made its job to wake up a snoring sleepyhead in the homey apartment of the Manobal's.
"Lalisa! Hurry up and help your father downstairs!" a woman in her dirty apron pushed open an old wooden door, revealing a mess of a room, "Good heavens! What's with this room?! Did a typhoon hit it or something?"
The owner of the room groaned in annoyance, "Mom, please, it's too early!"
"Yah, Lalisa! Don't you have that attitude with me first thing in the morning, young lady, or else I'll have to forcefully drag your cheeky butt around your father's diner myself!"
The older woman hissed and started pulling her tardy excuse of a daughter out of her bed, who was just about to cover herself up again with her futon.
"I'm up! I'm up! Geez." the younger girl sleepily arose with a grumpy look.
"Good. Now hurry up and get your butt down there." The older woman demanded and finally walked out from her daughter's sight.
What's up with her and butts this early? She thought, scratching her head lazily.
Lalisa Manobal, still in her 18 years of age grumpily strode along the narrow space towards their family's only bathroom and prepared herself for today's wrath.
As she was about to finish preparing, Lisa checked herself in the mirror and couldn't help but admire her whole being thoughtfully.
"Tsk. Look at you... so good looking, so beautiful, so hot, so sexy." She proudly announced while doing poses to check herself at her best, constantly flexing her biceps and visible abs towards the poor mirror witnessing every good and disastrous thing.
Lisa opened the door, only to be surprised that caused her to flinch, hand clutching her towel over her chest when she saw her little sister in her ugliest morning form and face.
"I just heard the most disgusting, most idiotic, most untrue and most pathetic thing early in the morning in my whole entire life of existence." She commented with a poker face, a saliva stain clearly visible on her right cheek.
Lisa rolled her eyes mockingly with a smirk, "And I just witnessed the ugliest, most idiotic, most untrue and most pathetic creature on earth with the most disgusting saliva stain on their cheek early in the morning in my whoooole entire life of existence." She countered back, stifling a laugh.
Her little sister, Liza, only twitched her cute nose in annoyance as she pushed her older sister by her shoulder forcefully, but failed to do so when she was so little compared to her maturing big sister's body.
"Move already, unnie! I need to pee!" She hissed, but her own voice betrayed her terribly as it sounded pleading and desperate, satisfying her older sister's ears.
Lisa mockingly snorted, "I thought you already did that on your bed."
She continued to make fun of her younger sibling which resulted them to bicker and fight against each other, obviously resulting it to a one-sided mini war.
Haish, it's going to be a loooong day, their mother thought, shaking her head when she heard both of her daughters' noisy bickers just too early in the morning.
--
"More cold water here, please!"
"Aye! Be right there with you in a min." Lalisa, who was working at her family's small diner just below their own house, answered, while expertly cleaning a bowl of puke with a mop on the floor.
Seriously, could life get any worse than this? She boringly thought.
Her younger sister was still in school, and she was the only other daughter who could really help her parents with their small family business because she had stopped attending school months ago just to help out, and of course, because her parents were in financial crisis at the time, they couldn't really support her.
Somehow that day, her mother was excited over a lottery show that was about to take place in the most known prestigious school in South Korea, Kim Academy, on TV.
Lisa rolled her eyes, thinking about the school itself. Jerks, arrogant, conceited and a bunch of spoiled brats only attend there. It was recently turned into an all girls' school. And only the daughters of such millionaires, billionaires or so can attend the said institute.
It surely wasn't the school for people with a less fortunate life, a life something like Lalisa Manobal has.
She didn't really understand the hype about everything the people had said about the school.
Heck, she didn't really care though, but only she did now because her mother has been crossing her fingers for the past couple hours while watching the only TV available in their diner, her eyes hopeful for something unknown to Lisa.
"Please. Please, oh gods, help us." Her mother chanted pleadingly.
"Now, we will give the honor to our lovely princess, Ms. Jennie Kim, to..."
Lisa shrugged and squinted her eyes, caring less to listen further as she continued what she was doing and hurried to the medium-sized kitchen after cleaning the puke for her to wash her stained hands, and along the way seeing her usually lively father cooking the ordered dishes while humming a certain song.
She gave out a genuine smile. No matter how tiring it was, as long as she'd see her parents happy with smiles plastering on their faces, it was surely enough to keep her going.
They were her source of strength no matter what life would throw at her. Without them, Lisa wouldn't be witnessing how beautiful life surely was despite every obstacle, every imperfect situation and experience.
She was just like the kind of person who would never fail to see the beauty in everything.
"OMO! Deeaar!!!" Suddenly, a loud, ear-piercing scream made the other two Manobal flinch from their spot.
The chief deliberately ran towards his wife in worry, almost tripping at some tangled wires on his way, "W-what?! What's wrong?! A burglar?!"
Lisa nonchalantly walked towards them with a curious expression, seeing as both her parents stare and gawk at the small monitor her mother pointed to with her index finger while her other hand completely flushed onto her mouth with having the expression of utter disbelief.
Lisa tore her gaze from them and slowly turned her gaze to the monitor, blinking rapidly as she saw her full name casted on the screen, Lalisa Manobal...
And below were the following:
