Fluff

Ford's Pov

I stood nervously at the door to my dorm. It was already covered in peace and joy signs, so that was already a bad start.

My roommate was probably a hippie on the highest crack imaginable.

And he was.

Opening the door to my new dorm led me to a world of bright colors, bluegrass music, and an assault by my roommate, who had a banjo swung over his head, ready to strike.

"Oop! Pardon me, good sir! I thought you were Sasquatch!" He smiled, showing off his braces.

I gave a quick glance at the man. He was definitely a hippie. He had on a floral headband which didn't help keep his caramel-colored hair down. He wore a hideous green flannel and bell bottom jeans. And don't get me started on his peace sign earrings.

"Yeah um- It's fine.." I walked past him and claimed my side of the room. The room was nice, if you didn't count the hippie junk everywhere.

I started unpacking, until I noticed my roommate staring at me.

"Yes..uh..What's your name?" Like I wanted to know.

"Fiddleford! But you can call me Fidds!" He held out his hand, smiling brightly. He smiled so much, I could see dimples at the corner of his mouth.

"Oh. Um- I'm Stanford. But call me Ford." I accepted his handshake.

"OOOOOOooo  Alrighty, Stanferd!"

I didn't bother correcting him.

         ~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~~
Already two days in this god forsaken college and I'm already top of my classes. This is going to be a piece of cake. Though, my roommate is pretty educated himself.
I've learned a lot from him so far. He wants to work with robots, or "Evil Giant Robots", as he calls them. But he also wants to do art as well. He grew up in the south, which explains his accent, and he worked on a hog farm. Figures.
He's a confusing person that I've grown to hate.
I thought about all of this while l studied over piles and piles of books. I wasn't going to let him affect my grade.
I felt eyes burn into the back of my neck. Oh no.
I turned around quickly. Fidds stood there, in his pajamas, looking half asleep. "Stanferd, why are you up?..Come to bed.."
I glared at him and shooed him away. "I will later. Let me study."
Fidds didn't budge, but instead pulled up a chair and sat down. "I'm not moving until you come to bed.."
Great. Just great.
Time passed, I studied, and Fidds watched me. He did get up once to bring me food and water, but then resumed his spot next to me.
Him being next to me wasn't so bad. It kinda felt...comforting..
Ew. No. Stop it, Ford.
I suddenly felt Fidd's head on my shoulder, his body slightly leaning on me. I turned to look at him. He had passed out, snoring slightly.
Despite my feelings towards him, I felt my face warm up a bit. Maybe I was a little too quick about my opinions on him. He really was a sweet man who just wanted me to get some proper rest.
I sat my pencil and book down and turned off the lamp on my desk. I didn't want to disturb him, so I took off my vest and placed it on him as some sort of cover.
I got comfortable and eventually found myself in a position where my arm was around him. I made sure he didn't wake up.
He had one eye open, and he was smiling.
I turned red with embarrassment. "Go back to sleep! You saw nothing!"
Fidds laughed and went back to sleep. I rolled my eyes and soon nodded off to sleep.
